Nothing.
All bad.
Upon arrival I was turned away due to what the front desk said was "too many items for us to be responsible for."
Aside from that I was also told that my friend and I were not eligible to stay there and no reason was given as to why that decision was made.
Not impressed one bit.

The guy staff is very nice. Place is very clean.
Bed is very narrow like that of a child. Can’t sit straight when you’re at the bottom bed. Key cards not working. Bathroom stalls has no tissue.

I like that the place was clean and tidy. The facilities were also good.
The backyard was not as well taken care of.

I forgot about it more times than I remembered,
Not having privacy, didn’t care for sharing a room with a bunch of strangers

Washrooms are ok.
It was too hot and no air conditioning or no fan was provided. There was 8 people in my room and so congested. When I entered the room I can smell the bad smell of socks. I leave the building by 4am because I can't sleep in that hot condition. I informed the receptionist about the rooms condition and he just says ok. No drinking water were provided. They close the kitchen by 12pm and say will stay close till 6 am if you want to drinking water use the washroom tape. In the future atleast provided a water dispenser at the main floor. Never recommended i spend only 1 to 2hrs in that building. I slept on my car that's way better.

HI Edmonton is comfortable place to crash for one night or 2 whilst in the big city (I mean do not expect a full size hotel room, flat screen tv with cable and in suite bathroom, lol). It's very budget friendly and super clean at the same time. My out of the blue travel plans was originally for my husband and I but last minute changes happened and had to bring our kids. The receptionist at that time was very quick and helpful to show me options and for lesser $$ to what I originally booked she was able to give us a room that accommodates us all! I'd definitely book in HI- Edmonton again next time we visit and needed a place to stay in the city for the night!

great location, lots of places to relax within the hostel including a library & TV room. Bedroom was clean & comfy. staff were friendly & helpful. Majority of the hostel was very clean with two vending machines available for canned drinks & snacks.
Bunk beds are very small, turning over in bed my arm would graze the top bunk. Shared kitchen sinks often dirty & fridge was so full couldn’t put my food in this is purely due to the guests though not the staff.

Plenty of amenities included within the property such as self-service kitchen, TV room, laundry, reading room and ATM machines. Friendly and helpful staff. Amanda helped us with big luggage while check-in. Another thing, they don't mention about it but they offer free oats meal and cereal bar for breakfast. so you at least don't starve.
They don't have any en-suite bathroom. So shared bathroom experience depends on other boarders as well. For example, on some days we found the bathrooms very clean and on some other days not. But they have dedicated housekeeping team that continuously clean the bathrooms and toilets during the day.

Not too far off the beaten path. I know this might sound weird but it reminded me of boot camp. Clean orderly rooms.

The staff was very friendly! I had some questions about the region and i concerned about leaving visible stuff in my car overnight, and she gave me advices. Also the hostel has great common areas, like a well equipped kitchen and dining room, a library, washing and drying machines, and a big room with couches.
