Being close to the Icefields lets you beat the crowds and enjoy some of the highlights of the park before the mid day crush. The rooms are plain and looking worn but the beds were comfortable and everything was clean. All the staff from the check-in to the store to the cleaning crew were working hard to make it as nice as possible.
Prices are high ($5+ for a cup of coffee) because you are paying for having service and selection in a remote location. After spending the night we also stopped by on our way out of the park for some snacks and mid-day on a sunny weekend in September the place was overrun.

The location and warmth and friendliness of the staff
Even though the rooms are a fortune due to the brilliant location you don’t even get a hairdryer included. We opted for the 23 CAD continental breakfast and it was bang average. No fresh pastries. The accommodation and food just felt in need of a revamp which is a real shame as the location and friendliness of the staff is exceptional
