The room was very spacious, which is unusual for NYC. The location was lovely with a lot of conveniences like drugstores, restaurants, cafes, bodegas. It's only a couple blocks away from Central Park, so within 20 minutes, you could be on the Upper East Side via a beautiful walk through the park. The hotel is also very close to a subway line, which was very helpful for getting downtown.
The bathroom is a bit small, but that's what you get in NYC. The hotel doesn't feel extremely luxurious, but it's clean, safe, the staff is really nice.

It is a perfect Victorian that evokes a more gracious age. The bar was lovely, with complimentary wine and nibbles at 5pm. The room was ample and the maze of corridors added to the charm. Highly recommend.
The price is steep but then again, this is NYC.

Just tiny elevators but totally okay

The staff were friendly and helpful
The room was not to standard for the price or to be a SLH property. I initially was given an interior room next to the elevator which was unacceptable; very loud noises from the elevator, the shower floor was grimy and old, the room itself was not pleasant. I did ask to be moved and to the credit of the staff they gave me a better room with a newer looking shower/bathroom situation. However, all in all the price for this hotel was not appropriate for the level of the hotel, unfortunately.
