Hotel was overbooked, we were not given a room and had to stay elsewhere.

The property was very clean and the location is really close to the airport.

The room seemed to be clean.
Everything was old and rundown. The shower curtain rod was falling out of the wall, wallpaper peeling, and all around just old and falling apart.
9.0
Clean, good breakfast, shuttle
Pillows too thick, shower curtains slides from both end to the middle of the pole so you feel the cold inside the shower.

The room and hotel are in major need of renovations. This hotel charged a lot for a stay and the room was very underwhelming for the price. I would not pay more than $70 to stay here. The location and free breakfast are fine.

Proximity to airport was useful and there are a few reasonable places to eat/drink nearby. Bathroom issues were addressed and fixed when reported. Clean rooms and hotel in general.
No Pool available. Breakfast was fairly basic (although this might be because we arrived towards the end of the breakfast period). The hotel is starting to look a bit tired and needs some updating/renovation.

Location and price were keys high points here. Everything else was, well... see my "cons" list. Breakfast was fine, but the area was dirty and selection was light compared to most hotels I've stayed with.
The whole facility felt like it had changed hands several times before becoming High Plains. This gave it a sort of creepy half-abandoned zombie apocalypse feel. For instance, none of the outer doors worked (you know, for guest safety), the pool was closed indefinitely and creepily hidden from sight (due to "social distancing" - again for my safety - according to the sign) and there were old mattresses and litter visible through the outside door in the rear of the building which could have otherwise been used to enter with the keycard. Why not at least paper that window up or put up a sign? Stupid little things like this gave me a scummy feeling about the place.
I parked in back and walked all the way around to the only entrance that opened: the front door. By the way, you don't want to park up front - the dozen or so spots there are below trees inhabited by a hundred birds with apparent bowel disfunction. Ten minutes of your car being there, it will be covered in crap. Overnight? Let's just say I assumed one particular minivan had been abandoned in that spot for a week or more. The next morning, I walked out and saw a family with their mouths agape, taking photos of their entirely poop-encased minivan. I asked how long they'd been parked there and the father said "Less than 24 hours! This thing isn't even safe to drive, how am I supposed to see out of the windows?"
Once inside, you're greeted by a front desk clerk who's not exactly friendly (although not entirely rude). Our room was a king suite which was clean enough, however the AC unit would not cool sufficiently nor reliably (I think it was freezing up), and our one-night stay was quite a sweaty night for both my wife and I. Not in a good way.

our room was an ajoining door and our side had no lock. a guy busted through our room at 2am and I have children. the night staff didn’t care nor did they do anything to rectify the situation. our room also had no phone and she took 5 minutes to answer. pretty sure our neighbors were crackheads they were up all night and so were we after the incident. our our room recliner Infront of that door. the manager did refund my stay but do not stay at this hotel. ever!

The staff were really friendly and the rooms clean. The breakfast was ok. It would have been nice to have a toaster. My complaint is that when I booked I specifically asked for the transportation from the airport to the hotel because on the website it says this is available. I was told that there would be a shuttle to pick us up. After waiting 45 mins and after multiple shuttles to all the other hotels in the exact same location we called the hotel and was told there is no shuttle at that time. We had to pay $40 for a taxi. This is unacceptable. Also it was very confusing to receive the confirmation emails from the Best Western when the hotel has another name.

The young man doing everything at the front desk was nice and helpful.
The room we were given reeked of smoke and we had to change rooms---luckily there was one available.
