Thunderbird Motor Inn

When I arrived to check in, the gentleman I spoke with was very helpful and very accommodating to my needs. When I made the reservation, I was using a cane, but in the six weeks since then, I ended up using a walker, so a ground floor room went from a mere request to an actual need. And the employee who helped me did so quickly and was very much appreciated.

To be clear, although I booked at the Thunderbird, we stayed at the nearby Spinning Wheel--the same owner. Owing to a knee injury, I'd wanted a first floor room. The room was very clean; towels and bathroom amenities were replaced the second day--unusual nowadays but most welcome. Facilities were modest but adequate. Nice fridge and micro, nice TV. Both shower & bath. Looks as if the room was refreshed within the last year. (I stayed at the Spinning Wheel last year.) Bed very comfortable.

Would have liked a coffeemaker in the room, and while the pillows were nice and fat, there was only one per person. The lighting was a bit sparse: a lamp on the desk would've been nice. These are all fairly minor points.

Good value for a one night stay

Very basic accommodations. Adequate for a one-night stay, but not for longer.

The blankets were stained and the beds left me with a backache, though they seemed firm. Also, the man at the front desk was fiddling with the computer without telling me he was running my credit card. If I had wanted to use a different card, I wouldn't have had a chance.
