The room was newly remodeled.
It smelled like paint, the sink didn't drain properly, and it was expensive for the bare minimum.

It was a lot better than where we stayed for our trip, and that was a 5 star place!

There wasn't a breakfast offered. This bare minimum Econo Lodge did not warrant the overpriced rate I was charged. The only amenity I could find was a hair dryer! The television could only broadcast one channel! They should change the signage to "Econo-ish".
TV with one viewing channel and remote that didn't work. No space for clothing and luggage storage. No viable breakfast options. Drab entryway. This is based on way too much of a daily rate for a hotel by an interstate, next to an empty lot in a relatively small town that was miles from its downtown section.
