Nearby canal.
The room is aged especially the washroom… the condition of furnitures are not good

a good location in a somewhat boring little town
worst internet imaginable, no A/C, INSANELY EXPENSIVE for what you got, just OK breakfast which for their hotel price should be WAY BETTER, cheap bed sheets, mediocre spa, small bedroom, basically an over-priced second-rate hotel that’s seen better days.

super great location and well maintained hotel/rooms. the deluxe king room is simply superb.
staff are rather unfriendly, likely towards foreigners.

The canal view room was perfect for The Snow Light Path Festival as we could watch from our sitting area when we had enough time out in the snow. The onsen facilities were clean, with good amenities, and breakfast was good. It is a great location - just a short walk to JR Station but of course this can be tricky in the snow and ice (we wear spikes). Also just a short walk to shopping streets and restaurants are all around.
The room is a bit dated and the bathroom small, but that's ok for the good price. We had the end room in a building and that end wall could be quite cold, sometimes making the room hard to heat adequately.

Location is great.
Under staffed.
Unable to communicate with staff with english.
Furniture is really old.
No towels at the onsen.
Cabinet handle keep falling out.
Spiderweb in bath room.
Tried to make a local phone call from the room to reserve a shuttle bus but unsuccessful. Then I tried to ask the staff at the check in counter, none of the staff is able to help or offer any assistance, or give any advise.
At least tell me where I can find a pay phone.

It was right in front of the canal, so the view was great. The staff was kind and the hot spring was very good. The breakfast was small but full and delicious.
It's far from the station, so you have to walk a little.

Great location, comfortable beds, amazing onsen - we’d probably stay here again just for the onsen facilities, close to nearby restaurants and ski resorts
The bathroom was really weird and having to step up into it was uncomfortable. The vanity and mirror were at the wrong height so it was hard to bend down and use sink. The hot water went from cool to scalding hot with no warning.

1) The strategic location overlooking Otaru Canal
2) Delicious breakfast spread with that morning wine
3) A cafe that serves awesome ice cream and coffee
not exactly don’t like, but:
1) I stayed in the 5th floor, South Building. The door was only 6 feet high so taller people might find it a challenge.
2) some of the details in the room were clearly dated and need refurbishment. the room was clean though.
3) the bathroom was quite small to come extent those with claustrophobia might have problem. I just use their Onsen to bath instead.

It's like a modern vintage type of hotel.
I love the ambience and also it is relaxing.
I also appreciate the staff that inform us beforehand that the public is open until 12am.
The public bath floor is a little bit slippery.
Also, one of the staff when we check in gave me a form without explaining and I didn't know if I should fill all of it.
