it seemed like this was a quite nice place a few years ago! but when we arrived there was no staff at the location to find! We had to wait 30-60 minutes till somebody arrived! (The person was really kind and arranged everything for the next day to go to Zanzibar) It also looked like the room we booked was the only clean one the other ones were a total mess! the place looked like we were the first guests since a few weeks or even months. so all in all it could be a wonderful and lonely place to relax and even to have a really good time when some more guests would stay there and the place get a renovation. One last thing to say: There was no drinking water a the accommodation!! and you have to drive half an hour to buy some. we were lucky to bring our own but this is an absolutely no go

The setting was gorgeous. It’s a lovely place to stay at and relax.
The food was very good too, we were very happy with that.
The salty showers! For 40$, we should be able to shower after swimming in the ocean (which is very salty)
We liked it enough to stay but I think it is not acceptable.
The staff was not always very friendly and helped us arrange the trip to Zanzibar ( for a lot more money than the normal price of course) but didn’t seem to care enough about helping guests, which is a shame.

I was upgraded without asking. . The location by the beach is great! Waking up with the sound of the waves is superb.
Wifi wasn't working. Power and water cuts. The place needs some deep renovations. And Ushongo beach is dead. Almost all the places are closed. A pity really.

It seemed everything needed to arranged through the owner - he was never around so it was hard to arrange things like wifi, excursions, and even payment!

The location is absolutely smashing!
The choice for full wooden buildings might be a bit harmful as the buildings might be up for some renovations.

Beautiful location on the beach, super peaceful and relaxing. There are lots of nice animals there like monkeys and little beach crabs. The bar worker was amazing and helpful, and the food was pretty good mostly.
Poor water pressure in the showers. Lots of things were slightly dirty or broken. We also found 5 ants fried into our eggs one morning, so watch out for that.

Breakfast was amazing, very complete and the meals really good. We enjoyed the barbecue, with lots of choice and very good quality. The staff were very available and very kind. The location facing the beach was perfect
The infrastructure required a big refreshment but we enjoyed our stay.
The bed sheets were not clean and very dusty. Some exterior equipment was broken, so unusable. Common showers lack pressure. Lack of a diverse menu for dinner

Nice welcoming by staff.
Really remote area which make you feel like you're on an island from "pirates of the Caribbean", which is kind of cool.
Lovely and smiley chef who makes really delicious food 😊
everyone was really friendly at first. However after just 2 days or so the mood of the lady in the bar/ reception kind of changed and she seemed to be a bit bored already and wasn't around a lot. Sometimes you could walk around the whole place for quite some time before finding anyone.
On the last night we had finished our dinner and we payed for everything, accommodation, drinks and food for all days. 10 minutes later the electricity went of (we were the ONLY guests and the place is completely dark at night and no fence or any other houses nearby).. Alright its Tanzania and this will happen sooner or later.. Our problem was that after it went of, she just switch on some small solar power lights in the bar, ran into the kitchen and locked the door without saying even one word, leaving us completely alone. The rest of the massive property/beach area was still pitch black.
Anyways, we went with our flash lights to look for her and walked around the building to the back of the kitchen just 1 minute after she ran in there. She had vanished.
This made us extremely uncomfortable as it felt like we where completely alone in the middle of the Bush, and we starting thinking too many crazy thoughts... We finally found the maasai guy walking around who then went to find the lady who showed up with a bucket of salad. She explained that she wanted to go to the "neighbor" to ask what the problem was, and then get back to us. When we told her that we got really scared with the way she just ran inside the kitchen and locked the door without even saying one word to us she never even apologised.
