About this house rental
Masseria Il Trappeto is a stunningly restored 17th century olive mill uniquely situated just 1 mile from the historic town of Ostuni, which is set in an an ancient olive grove. It has a heated pool. The Evening Standard described it as 'the perfect place to come for a week with a gang of friends.'
It has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. It has a large outside terrace with a stone table by the pool that seats 14. WIFI
There is also a limonetto, a private party area just 50m from the front door, which has its own outside kitchen, dance floor, table for 18, open fireplace and lemon trees.....
There is also a pergola in the walled garden with sofas and table football close to the large heated swimming pool. We also have a ping pong table.
The property is surrounded by terraces on the first floor with magnificent views of Ostuni and the sea. For cooler times we have underfloor heating and two open fireplaces. There is a flat screen TV and internet connection and a music system (CDs and ipods) for music throughout the ground floor. There is a 60sqm sitting room which has the original olive presses, and a large kitchen, with 3 sinks, a large stone table in front of a working fireplace and an island.
The property is set in a peaceful 10,000 acre olive grove, with trees over 1,000 years old. It is a UNESCO World Heritage sit. Yet, it is a 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk to Ostuni. There are no other occupied buildings within sight.
I am always available to answer any questions you have about the villa, flights and facilities. You can call, text or email me anytime. And we also have an Italian house manager, who speaks fluent English and lives 5 minutes away. He can organise a cook, wine tastings, boat hire and outings.
Note: A heating fees will be applied from November the 1st till April the 1st every year with an amount of 50 GBP per night.
For bookings between November and March, a five-day minimum notice is required.

The Property was as described and very well restored . The setting was very rustic , however the access road was in poor condition, in parts , making it difficult to drive on.The description on the VRBO website of walking distances was incorrect , eg 10/15 mins was in fact 25/30 mins. We were advised about this but not until we received the joining instructions a week before we were due to arrive. The information about how to dispose of your rubbish was incorrect, when I went to the local waste disposal centre , I was told it was only for locals. I was asked for my Codice Fiscale , which is an Italian identity document. It needs a little bit of maintenance and updating of the house instructions.We booked Mimma to cook for 9 of us and it was a great success, would highly recommend .

We were a family of 9 adults and 4. Children (7, 10, 12 and 14). The place was fantastic with the swimming pool and plenty of places to spread out. The 6 bedrooms fit our needs but the 6th has no air and could use an industrial fan. The kitchen was great for meal preparation and the meal by Mimmi was well worth the price. Ottavio was always close by to answer any questions. The only things that were unexpected were that trash had to be taken to the garbage/ recycling center and that bottled water was needed for tooth brushing and drinking. The house is very close to Ostuni although walking there with the children was not tried due to the distance. We loved our visits there for meals and sightseeing. Due to its great location we were also able to visit some beaches, Matera, Monopoli, Alberobello and Castellanos Caves.This place enabled us to have a family vacation of a lifetime and would highly recommend despite a few minor inconveniences.

The house was beautiful and the grounds were amazing. We walked into town a couple of nights and had some beautiful dinners but ultimately spent most of our time at the wonderful villa. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms were perfect. Ultimately we had a gorgeous time.

Not a luxury villa. Rather tired and needs refurbishing. Local manager was a big help, fixing the many problems we encountered … green pool, broken air conditioner, blocked drains, flood in laundry room, repaired broken toilet seat with gaffer tape etc. Ostuni is lovely with many good restaurants. Great night life too.
