We are a multigenerational family who thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The setting is spectacular with lots of walking trails right at your doorstep.
The facilities were beautifully restored. We really enjoyed using the barbeque for cooking.
Highly recommend this lovely spot
Wow! What an amazing cottage, nestled in the most wonderful surroundings. Perched on the edge of Howden Dam means there’s lovely walks in all directions. The drive up to the house was great, taking in all the beautiful scenery.
The cottage itself was just perfect. The open plan lounge, diner & kitchen was a brilliant, sociable area. The log burner gave us a warm & cosy feel. The kitchen was well equipped, we had everything we needed to cook a Christmas dinner for 7 people.
The bedrooms were all lovely & our teenager loved the mezzanine. There’s 2 bathrooms & everything was sparkling clean.
The garden was lovely. Although we didn’t use them there was a large fire pit, pizza oven & smoker outside (& we’ll be sure to come back to stay again so we can make use of these).
If you’re looking for some peace & quiet, total relaxation in a beautiful cottage with the most wonderful walks then Beavers Croft is the perfect place.

We had a great few days staying in Abs lovely property. Ab was an attentive host, and the location was beautiful, as was the house. We made friends with the resident dogs, who are terrific with my one year old son. Ab also went out of his way to accommodate my son by bringing high chair and travel crib. My one caution would be that I could see the satellite internet being an issue if you needed to do video calls for work during your stay. Overall, highly recommend!
Beavers Croft is located in the outstanding landscape of the Upper Derwent Valley in Derbyshire's Peak District National Park, adjacent to the breathtaking Howden Dam. Furnished to the highest standards, it has all year round appeal for families, cyclists, walkers and those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle. It boasts a beautiful, open plan lounge with log burner, a fully equipped kitchen, TV with freesat, DVD player, bluetooth speakers, satellite internet, outdoor dining, BBQ & smoker, secure storage for bikes, board games. An open plan kitchen and dining area leads to a double height sitting room, with two bedrooms, both with twin beds, and a bathroom with walk in shower on the ground floor. Upstairs is the gallery with a trundle bed which pulls out to sleep two on twin beds, a further bathroom with bath and shower and a double bedroom with double bed, sleeping 8 in total. Kitchen boasts large preparation island, hob, double oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. All cooking utensils, pans and crockery are provided. Washing machine, drying rack, steam iron and ironing board. Included - bedlinen, towels, dining table cloths, serviettes, tea towels and end-of-hire cleaning. Essentials for your stay (tea, coffee, milk, washing up liquid, toilet roll, washing powder etc.) also provided. Welcome tray. Parking for multiple cars. Private entrance with gate. Outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, gas BBQ, meat smoker and large fire pit.
