Nestled in Damariscotta, this lovely condo for $260 per night is a great choice for your next break. Hagen’s Hollow Enjoy the wonderful ambience of this quiet riverfront getaway ideally situated to explore the Maine coast by river or by car. Take in the fresh salt air, listen to the birds sing, enjoy sightings of bald eagles, seals in the cove at high tide, and clammers hard at work, earning a traditional Maine living. The Space 2 BR, 1 BA, sleeps 4 Hagen’s Hollow offers all you need for a comfortable stay. This 1,500 square foot space is located on the lower level of the owner's home. It has two bedrooms with queen beds (blow-up mattresses available for extra children) a large, newly renovated bathroom, well-equipped eat-in kitchen, spacious closets, washer and dryer, living room area with TV, stereo and WIFI, a screened in patio with direct riverfront views, outdoor fire pit and grill. The unit comes equipped with two single kayaks and a double, and two bicycles for your enjoyment. There is a path close to your entrance where kayaks can be put in (it’s tidal and water/mud shoes recommended) and another put-in area approximately 800 feet away, or about a minute’s walk. Here, you can sit on park benches and enjoy the views of a small island, the local oyster farms (this area is called the Napa for Oysters), or enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day as you take in the splendid westerly views and gorgeous sunsets. Guest Access Guests can access the unit through the side yard where there is a lit path leading to a private entrance. Please note that there are stairs and a sloping pathway, therefore if you have walking issues or are handicapped, this may not be the property for you. The owners occupy the upper level of the main house, but you will not see them unless you need assistance. Nearby Attractions: This location is 1.5 miles from the center of town, an hour north of Portland, a 20-minute drive to Pemaquid Point lighthouse, Boothbay Harbor and Bath; a 40-minute drive to the charming village of Camden, and just two hours to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The area’s highlights include: lighthouses, Pemaquid Beach, Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site, lakes and beaches, artists’ galleries, a local movie theater, award-winning restaurants, antiquing, hiking, nature preserves, fishing, birding, Monhegan Island, whale watching, breweries, distilleries, golf courses, farmers’ markets, lobster pounds and oyster farms. There’s something to delight both young and old alike. This was our first Maine experience and this property has all the amenities listed as well as extras. It is a wonderful location in the mid coast of Maine. We were able to do so many day trips to different places we wanted to go to. We were able to visit, Freeport, Bath, Booth Bay, Camden, Pemaquid, Rockland, and Acadia. The restaurants in Damarisotta did not disappoint. We enjoyed all of them. We were well pleased with our stay.
Lisa and Rick were very welcoming and gracious hosts extending all offers of help if needed.

We had a wonderful time! The house was spacious, comfortable, clean, and very well stocked, with beautiful views of the river. The location was perfect. Lisa and Rick put together a binder with tons of helpful information about local amenities and things to do which came in quite handy. We’d love to stay here again!

It was perfect for us. Super clean, cozy, with everything we needed and more. Lisa was super helpful, responsive and kind. Glad to be able to carry 2 of the 3 kayaks to access the water. Reminder to folks not to smoke in non-smoking places so the renters who follow don’t have to smell your butts! Thank you for a wonderful week.

The beds were super comfortable, the kitchen cozy and well stocked, the screened porch a delight to see the water and waterfowl.

I stayed at this beautiful property while attending a professional class at Anatomy Trains, a campus about 6 miles from the location of this VRBO. I shared this VRBO with a colleague friend, hence the two bedrooms were perfect providing space and comfort. I loved the fully stocked and operable kitchen, a door that closed to the kitchen, so I could make food early mornings without disturbing my friend. We both loved walking on the quiet residential road, sitting on the rock by water, and kayaking. This VRBO place is quiet, private, meticulously cared for, and has a luscious screened in porch with a view of the water. Because this is and feels like a home, it provides a nice place to visit and enjoy the visit. I would very much enjoy staying here again. I sincerely appreciate Lisa's welcome, notes, and friendship during the stay. Thank you!

Great lookout to see eagles and Osprey Owners very accommodating and fully stocked with supplies. Great location for seeing all of Midcoast Maine. Can kayak in river and stop at islands. Fire pit for marshmallows and indoor cozy electric fireplace, lots of room to spread out for 4 people. As well as screened porch.

If we could give this owner ten stars we would! Probably the best place we have ever stayed. Hosts were extremely nice, easy to reach and have thought of every possible thing travelers might need. If we get a chance to come back to Maine we'd stay here again and again!!

Above and Beyond!
Vacation rental was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped. All you need is your toothbrush, clothes, and a sense of adventure, everything else is supplied! Rick and Lisa are awesome hosts. They go above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. We appreciated the cold bottle of Prosecco after a long drive from Michigan. We were very impressed with our stay in 2021 and decided to book for 2 weeks in 2022. Great location for whale watching, puffin tours, lighthouses, lobster pounds, Reny's, antiquing and more!

We absolutely loved our stay at this charming place on the water. Hagen’s Hollow has a wonderful view with a screened in porch to enjoy it from. It’s in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood and also close to great restaurants and fun shopping. The house was spacious and comfortable, with great beds. It was like having the best version of home to return to after all of our day trips around the area. But what made this stay extra special was Lisa and Rick’s attention to detail—from a bottle of chilled rose’ when we arrived to running to get us a “need to have” item we couldn’t find….just so kind! We highly recommend! Thank you Lisa and Rick🥰

Home away from home!
This vacation rental exceeded our expectations in every way! We had a wonderful view of the Damariscotta River and the wildlife was abundant. The property was very private and quiet. The kitchen was well equipped with great attention to detail. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were beautifully decorated, as was the rest of the house. Everything we love about Maine was celebrated in the decor. The hosts had a binder with ideas for activities, sightseeing, and restaurants in the Midcoast area. There was plenty to do at the rental itself, including, kayaking, biking, oyster harvesting, and peaceful relaxation around the campfire or sitting at the point. In case of rain, there were plenty of board games and great cable TV and wi-fi. We are already planning to come back next year and look forward to seeing our new friends!

Hagen's Hollow- A haven away from home
Lisa and Rick were consummate hosts, with thoughtful amenities and provisions meant to make you feel welcome and at home. Ample linens, bath and beach towels, cleaning supplies and sundries are all provided.
The Hagens meticulously prepared a binder full of area resources and local knowledge that was our codex and guide throughout our visit. They even provided the makings for S'mores for our children, which was kind and creative.
No detail was overlooked, and this beautiful home will be our first option for years to come when visiting family in the region.

We both very much enjoyed our stay at Hagen's Hollow. The pictures didn't do justice for the listing - better than expected! My wife is telling friends and family that we've never stayed in a rental so well equipped. Lisa didn't miss a thing!

Great Experience
The rental experience was as good as could be imagined. Communication with Lisa was prompt and easy. The property was perfect for our family and the location was very convenient. We loved sitting outside with our morning coffee and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit I. The evening, all with beautiful views of the Damariscotta River. We would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone!
