The host was very friendly and welcoming. He took great trouble to ensure I was well informed about how to get the most from my stay. Warm and comfortable, compact room. It was homely and clean. Sadly I had to leave before breakfast time (8-10 am on a Saturday) - but having fresh fruit available was great. Among features I enjoyed was the canal towpath walk into town - which was a nice break away from traffic.

The stairs carpet is well worn, giving a slightly shabby appearance. This wasn't a big issue - it clearly gets a lot of use.

Good old fashioned B&B. Very comfortable, everything to hand. Nice breakfast.

Parking was limited. Not a big deal for a car as there are spaces at the front and in a small car park to the side. Just a bit vulnerable for a bike but I parked on the very wide pavement so all was well.
