Our stay at the Alfons Boutique Hotel apartment had many wonderful highlights. We stayed at the two bedroom apartment. On the positive side, the apartment truly felt luxurious with beautiful golden/brown/black decor throughout. The location is amazing, situated just a few steps away from the metro station with multiple restaurants nearby. We were absolutely amazed by the breakfast selection, which is easily one of the best breakfast selections in Europe. Overall, we felt it offered good value for money.
There were a few issues that reduced our comfort. The door of the only bathroom in the huge apartment was transparent, which does not make sense for an apartment shared by multiple families as it violates basic privacy. Additionally, the television volume was capped and could not be made louder than 25, which we found frustrating. Guests should also note that there are multiple steps to reach the rooms where elevator might not help. Finally, we were disappointed to be charged city tax again at the hotel and thought that it was already included in our booking price as communicated by the booking site.

Breakfast very good, service and staff excellent, very friendly, efficent and helpful, room very spacious clean, comforable, good location, easy access to trams, cafe and even walking to city centre
A music bar next door played very loud music until late on friday and saturday nights

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was big and really comfortable. The lady at the reception was really nice and helped out with recommendations around the city and the area. Once we made a request at reception in the morning, it was taken care of immediately. Very convenient location, close to the center.
ACCIBILITY - The hotel is not accessible, gotta go up/down the stairs even after using the elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage.
HEATING - once you use the shower the heating stops for a while. We came back one night and the room was freezing, the heating didn't start until 1am. There was no heat and we couldn't get extra blankets. The reception was "closed" and the guy in the "online reception" was useless - offered to get us blankets tomorrow (as if that would help)- we had to go to sleep with all the layers of clothes we had and we were freezing . When we complained in the morning they just claimed that "the heating went on eventually and nobody else complained" and that was it.
Which brings me to the last issue - RECEPTION HOURS - I get that there's no receptionist at night, but be prepared that if *anything* goes wrong after reception hours you're gonna be left to your own device, don't expect any help from the hotel whatsoever. They also don't seem willing to admit to their issues or compensate a bad experience.
