Firstly - OMG the showers are AMAZING. (Sorry, the guys insisted that went first...!) My mates and I (four males in our mid-40s) get together like this every 9 months or so, have done for years, pandemics notwithstanding; we all agree this was the best place we've yet stayed at. Hard to describe it succinctly as it's so unique, both architecturally and as a living space. It's a long way off the beaten track so wonderfully private; we had a few musical instruments with us and made a bit of noise but doubt anyone heard a thing. Three of the rooms are enormous; the fourth has bunks so plenty of room for a decent-size family, maybe even two families (if the kids are all willing to share a room). One room downstairs has its own bathroom; the three others upstairs all share the main bathroom. The stonework is incredible, as all the other reviews note - really extremely impressive - but the obvious downside is that it's hard to keep warm in the depths of winter when we were there. The air con & space heaters help, but all but one fireplace (in the kitchen) are off limits. We also ran out of firewood about a day before our stay ended, which was a little disappointing. The TV is a good size, the couches & chairs are very comfy. The kitchen is a good size too and fairly well equipped, nice big fridge which isn't always a given. The bathrooms are beautiful and the showers OMG the showers...!! Great communication from the hosts, they were very accommodating and quick to reply. Thanks again for having us!!
