About this apartment rental
A comfortable well equipped flat with views of distant mountains, located in woodland off a cul-de-sac next to the Aviemore Centre, just a few minutes walk to the railway station, shops, restaurants etc. Aviemore is a popular holiday resort located in the Cairngorm mountains in the Highlands of Scotland. perfect for walking, cycling, wildlife, bird-watching and water sports. In the winter skiing can be enjoyed and it is ideal for both summer and winter sports and sightseeing. The scenery is spectacular and the wildlife abundant, as seen on BBC 'Spring Watch'.
The flat is located in the centre of the village within easy walking distance of station, shops, restaurants, bars etc. It is set back from the main road in a woodland setting next to the MacDonald hotel complex with mountain views. It sleeps four adults comfortably with the possibility of also accommodating a small child. The accommodation is well equipped and of a high standard, with a 'home-from-home', comfortable feeling. There is ample parking and space for bicycle/ski/pushchair storage.
Also within five minutes walk is a nature reserve, trout lake (where Osprey may be seen) and the newly refurbished Aviemore centre with a super new swimming pool , sauna and other sports facilities. There are many excursions to explore the surrounding Cairngorms National Park (e.g. to take a sleigh ride pulled by huskies, to feed the reindeer) or further afield to Inverness, Culloden, Braemar, etc.

This flat is not fancy, but it had everything we needed, and the location could not be more perfect. Plus, it was absolutely silent the three days we were there! We saw people coming and going outside, but the walls must be very thick because we never heard a sound. We traveled to Aviemore via train, and utilized the Adventurer bus to visit Glenmore and Cairngorm Mountain. The train station/bus stop is very close, the M&S market is steps away with convenient food including prepared healthy options, and it was easy to stroll through town and enjoy the shops or explore Craigellachie. It was hot when we visited (80's F), and I worried about being on the top floor. No problem; the building is completely shaded all day by large trees and the big windows allow for good ventilation. We closed them as soon as it started to get dark (quite late in the Highlands summer) to avoid attracting bugs, and it stayed cool inside. The bright white small kitchen was delightful with a view of the mountain. Communication with Jackie was superb. The big wooden table was great for meals and spreading out maps, etc. We would stay here again.

A compact flat on the edge of Aviemore so it's very convenient for restaurants, shops etc. There is a Tesco just up the road. The flat is on the 2nd floor, with no lift, so you will need to bear that in mind but it was not a problem for us. There is plenty of parking. Some things could do with updating but it was clean and towels and bedding are provided. We received good check-in instructions in advance plus info on local amenities.

Positive aspect clean insideBut flat had musty smell left all windowsOpen 3 hrs still persisted.Outside very run down general impressionOf council estate other two people with meSince had new vehicle refused to stay thereSince didn't trust vehicle being left over night.Initial flat description doesn't say buildingIs council estate or similar.
