If I could rate Mark and Ellen higher than 5-stars, I would. There were some very, very minor mechanical issues that popped up just before our arrival, and Mark & Ellen were quick to communicate with me, and came through with all accommodations. The location was great for our short deer hunting excursion, and Mark was very knowledgeable about the terrain. Thank you for a memorable stay. Looking forward to future visits.

The place was not very clean, advertising wasn’t accurate. It was not handicapped. I told them I was taking my 85 year old mother and never once did they tell me it wasn’t handicapped. The hot tub didn’t work, the toilet over flowed while we was there, the downstairs smelled of mold, couldn’t even sleep down there, was very disappointed. I rent cabins twice a year and never had a place this bad. If they are going to rent a place at least clean around the house. And the grill was a joke, it was propped up with rocks, tried cooking on it and almost lost our dinner because it fell off the rocks that held it up. And it says it has a path to the lake, no path and u couldn’t see the lake at all. I’m not happy about this place and. Our vacation. I’m sorry but I won’t be back to this place.

I loved staying at this cottage. It had everything we needed for a nice little get away

Great weather, the lake/ beach was great. We had great fun in the water, rented a platoon boat for a wonderful morning on the lake. Fun family time.

Very cozy and relaxing place to get away! Property manager was so nice and responsive. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a quiet place to sneak off to.

Loved the place. Owners are wonderful! 4 adults, 3 kids, 2 dogs on our trip. Very spacious, great appliances, kitchen very well stocked. If you're from the city and not used to well water, bring your own. We were good with it. Trails behind the house were great to the boat dock. (At 60 years old, coming back up was rough.) Pontoon rental was great, easy to get to. Spent the day on the lake fishing and swimming. Everyone very friendly. Beautiful sunsets from the boat dock. Back deck was super nice to cook out and enjoy wildlife. Again, very spacious. Kroger and convenience stores close by (10 minute drive.) It's a real house with large closets in bedrooms, dresser drawers, night stands, nice beds, large back yard. Would definitely choose this place again.

Very quiet, very clean, and far from the city traffic and noise.

Everything about the house was very clean and the property manager was great to work with. There were a couple of small problems that were not his fault and he took care of them quickly, even coming to the house on New Years Eve. Everything in the listing was there, so it was accurate in that respect. I have to say we were disappointed in the house. Everything was just a little shabby. Poor quality microfiber sheets. Furniture old and stained. A dining room chair fell apart when sat on. The television was very small and only had basic cable with no internet (to be fair the no internet and basic cable were in the listing). The surrounding houses were a little trashy looking and very close to the house. The hot tub was on the front porch, very close to the neighboring back yard which was unattractive. The fire pit was on a sloping hill in back with old dirty broken looking plastic chairs. The house smelled very musty, but improved after the heat was on for a day or so. The road to get to the house was difficult to navigate with tight on-street parking. The front steps were a little steep. This was not what we were expecting. I do want to say again that everything was very clean.

Breathtaking views of the sun rising over the autumn leaves from the deck of the spacious, clean, comfortable, well stocked cabin. We loved the quaint feel which was conducive to cozy, comfortable conversation and lots and lots of laughter! The hot tub was the perfect way to start and end the beautiful days. Emma and her family are readily available and very friendly but not intrusive at all. We had a perfect weekend - thank you Emma!!!

Very well stocked kitchen. Extra towels for hot tub. Despite the oven issues (we lost some $$ on ingredients) the place was great. Learn from our mistakes…… the switch for the hot tub is inside of house. It was an hour from Hocking Hills, Search for tv remote, and be careful with windows, they may slip off the track.
We took advantage of fire pit, hot tub and grill! Had a fabulous time
Extremely clean and would absolutely recommend this property!

Plenty of room, comfortable beds.
Enjoyed sitting on the back deck and the feeling of privacy. Also enjoyed the hot tub!

The location was very peaceful and good for our purposes (ministerial retreat), however, I felt the house does could use some maintenance given the price point. We only used the upstairs bedrooms, the bedrooms were clean and the beds very comfortable! The basement smelled a little of mildew, but other than the bathroom, we did not use any of the bedrooms on the lower level. A good place if you simply want to get away to the country. The property manager was very responsive to questions and concerns! Note that the lake access is a short drive and the lake is not visible from the property.

Property was exactly as described with a short hike or drive to Burr Oak Lake. The cabin was well stocked with essentials and very clean. My partner and I spent a wonderful long weekend hiking, kayaking, and just relaxing by the fire and in the hot tub. Our senior great dane was safe to explore inside and out as a baby gate was available to keep him from attempting the spiral stairs to the lower level and the cabin was not close to the main road in. We didn't feel like cooking one night and got an excellent pizza from Little Italy in nearby Glouster. Make sure to visit the Float Shack on your way to/from the lake!

Great hosts!!
While it’s off the beaten path, the house is full of nostalgia. The hosts are awesome to say the least. While we had a couple minor issues, Emma and Mark are kind, compassionate and prompt when replying to messages. We thank them for their hospitality. One more note; I don’t give 5 stars because nothing is perfect, so my 4 stars is as close to perfect in my opinion.

3rd Year
This was our 3rd year in a row staying at this place for our turkey trip. The cabin is always clean with everything that you will need to cook big and small meals! The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean! We will continue to book this place. The property managers are very nice and easy to communicate with!

Large house in the woods
Plenty of space for a bunch of people in a beautiful wooded setting. We were there for a wedding at Burr Oak Lodge and it was nice and close and a perfect place to stay with a large group. Very clean and the hot tub was a hit!!

Lots of room
Had plenty of room and all we needed for eating at the cabin (hard to eat out with food allergies so we love vrbos). Close to Burr Oak (which had one of the best frisbee golf courses we've found in Ohio!). Had a nice visit to OU and Hocking Hills hiking. Hot tub is on the wrong side of the house - but still nice to have it with unpredictable OH weather. Wish I had more time to hike the Buckeye trail which is super close!

Great Place for a Getaway
We had a great time spending a few nights there for a long weekend…just the family and the dogs. The place was well-stocked and comfortable. We booked last-minute because our previous plans fell through, but it was March and still chilly. This place is close to the lake and would be a blast in the summer time!

Off the beaten path
Great place to hang out with friends and family. Fully functional kitchen to make all meals and snacks on site. Lots of room to move around, get some space away from the kids, play games, etc. After the initial shock of no internet, we enjoyed puzzles, games and great conversations together! Ended our time with a fabulous snow storm. The hosts were super helpful, shoveled the steps and made sure the road was clear for our departure. They even loaned the kids sleds to play with while we were packing up. MIght visit again to take advantage of the nearby lake.

We had some issues with the property. The hosts, Mark and Emma, meet with us personally and we were happy with their assistance and offering.
As a motorcycle rider and a group trip I must warn anyone that this is not a motorcycle friendly travel spot. The county roads leading to the property are in horrible dangerous condition, no fault of Mark or Emma, but just poor county management. Parking of motorcycles in front of the house is out of the question due to very loose and large gravel/rocks. Although Mark secured other areas to park (7) bikes the loose gravel made entering or exiting a real challenge.
