We had a fun family gathering. We enjoyed the Bear River Hot Springs near Preston, the Oregon Trail Museum in town and also a day at the North Shore Beach. The house had everything we needed to keep the small children and adults entertained. We had a great stay!

When we first walked into this cute house, we thought oh no, we’re not all going to fit. It looked larger in the photos. However, they have thought of everything to make room for a lot of people. The weather was perfect so we ate outdoors on the large patio and backyard, using the large picnic table or our camping chairs, which we also used to sit around the solo campfire in the evening. There was also plenty of tables and chairs in the clean garage so could have eaten together there if we would’ve had bad weather.
There was plenty of games and activities at the property, a favorite was the sand volleyball.
It was well stocked with everything and a short trip to the city if needed a store, but we loved the country feel not being in the city. Dirt road wasn’t bad to travel on to get to the lake. Hosts were quick to answer questions through text or email. We loved it and will probably be booking it again!

Such a fun house for all 32 of us! Every person had a mattress to sleep on. We had a lot of fun in the big backyard with all the available things to do and Bear Lake is a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

It was a beautiful setting and the accommodations were more than we expected.
The hosts were very attentive to our questions and needs.

It's set up for large groups and the house is well-outfitted and has a lot of extras that you don't see in VRBOs---toys, stocked kitchen, medicine cabinet. It's located away from other houses so there's a feeling of privacy. The grass area could be bigger for our particular group with lots of kids, but it's a nice place. We had a great time there!

Property was great! Wardboro is very small which makes for a quiet stay. Far enough away from the crowds but close enough to Montpelier and North Beach to make it very appealing. We had a group of 20+ and had plenty of space. The weather was good so we were able to take advantage of eating outside, which was a plus.
The property had everything we needed and everyone had a great time!

A perfect place for a family reunion, they anticipated all our needs for a big group. We loved our weekend at this beautiful house.

We loved our stay!!! We were meaning to spend a lot of time at the lake, but due to cool temperatures, and storms, we stayed close to home…We enjoyed the fire pit, and volleyball court. There were games available for all ages and space to spread out. We did go horseback riding, visited the cave, hit the beach twice but mostly strengthened our family ties!!!! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful home. We loved the porch swings, the horse neighbors, and peaceful country roads!

We had a great time. We especially enjoyed the yard. The house was stocked better than any house that we have stayed at in the last 10 years. We had 21 people ages 3-72. It worked well for everyone. One suggestion that I have is that railings would have helped my husband (72) to get up and down the outside stairs. He uses a cane and has physical limitations.

This weekend was just a relaxing weekend for my husband and I, our kids' families, and my mom. The accommodations were great! Everyone had a room with privacy. All of the amenities were perfect for the babies and we really enjoyed all of the games available.
Great place!

Great space for large families
We had a large group for my family reunion and we really felt that all of our needs were met. All of the parking was especially helpful to accommodate people coming and going, boats and campers. The space we had in the yard and garage along with the extra fridge/freezer in the garage worked great for us. Definitely an option for us if we choose to go to bear lake again

Definitely a fun place to stay with our large family. The youngest member of our group was 2 and the oldest was 84. Plenty of towels, soap and toilet paper. Very well stocked kitchen with lots of dishes, pans, cooking utensils, spices etc. We were gone during the day but had dinner here all 3 nights and it worked great. The ping pong table in the garage was a lot of fun as well as the volleyball net and sand out back kept kids and teens occupied. There are toys in the playroom for younger kids as well as games for the whole family. We had a fire and roasted marshmallows one night which everyone loved. Also, this is the only rental I've stayed in that had lots of tvs . Nice to have tvs in most of the bedrooms.
The downside to staying here was definitely the lack of air conditioning in the basement. It was almost 90 degrees all 3 days we stayed here and while the upstairs is air conditioned the basement needed the window opened at night to let cool air in. Between the air conditioner unit outside 1 of the windows running and making noise most of the night, the sprinklers running all night long 2 of the nights (8 hours 1 night and 6 hours the other) hitting the house which made noise and the train horn the people who slept in the basement didn't feel well rested. Maybe adding ceiling fans or some portable fans downstairs would make a difference. The train tracks are very close and you can see the trains go by from the yard of the house. They honk frequently at night. The only other thing that would have been great is some sort of handrails on the front and/or back steps. My parents are both in their 80's and had a hard time getting up or down the steps that go in and out of the house.

Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of games and activities. Beds for everyone. We set up tables in the garage for seating and serving our meals. Only draw back, the gravel road to the lakes. We spent a 1/ 2 day at Montpelier Reservoir paddling and hiking. We also went to the Adventure Park. We definitely will recommend your house to our friends. Thank you.

Perfect!!!
We loved this house!!! We especially loved that it was in the middle of no where so we could sit around the campfire and sing songs as loud as we wanted and not bother anyone! It is well maintained and the owners were super responsive to my questions. We might need to make this a yearly tradition!

We stayed here for our family reunion. It was very lovely and quiet and had everything we needed (wear ear plugs at night since the train is close) . Lots of beds & cots for everyone. The girl cousins stayed in the "hobbit hole" and loved it. The garage is welll equipped with folding tables and chairs for plenty of space to eat with a large group. It's only about 20 minutes from Bear Lake and very close to Montpelier for any grocery needs. We had a wonderful time here.

This is our 4th year staying at the Cape House and we absolutely love it! There's plenty of room for our extended family of 24 and it seems that each year Craig and Beth add something new to the property - this year was a ping pong table in the garage that helped entertain the teenagers. It was a great addition especially since the lake was quite windy and we spent more time at the house than planned. The kids absolutely love staying here and we hope to continue to make memories for years to come. Thank you Craig and Beth!

This is a great property with plenty of space for a large family get together. The only issue we had was when we first got there, there were dead flies all over the floor by the doors and windows. It was pretty gross and not something I expected to have to clean up when we first arrived. And the large master bath tub was wonderful for the kids until we turned on the jets. Then a slew of dry, black flakes came spurting out. It was pretty nasty and we immediately took the kids out and put them in the shower.
Besides those two small things though, everything else was great.

Perfect House for Big Families
We really enjoyed our stay at this house for our extended family reunion! Everything was clean upon arrival and the checkin in process was so easy. There were so many places to sleep, and plenty of additional things to use at the house (bikes, life jackets, tubes). We loved the backyard and our kids had so much fun playing at the house. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
