BW doesn’t accept cash anymore as a security deposit, so if your family doesn’t have a credit card you aren’t welcome there. At least that’s pretty much what we were told “next time you’ll need to have a credit card or you won’t be able to stay here”. Our bathroom had mold all around the ceiling in the shower, the toilet would keep running unless you jiggled the handle, our room door SLAMMED shut every time it closed, and our patio door was super hard to open. Not to mention, the continental breakfast was atrocious. We got a couple of plates for us and our toddler and it remained uneaten in our room. The sausages were cold and chewy, the eggs weren’t good, and the hash browns were cold and unappetizing. I appreciate that they offer a free breakfast, but this was just embarrassing quality. I’ll be honest, I’m not one to leave negative reviews, but the Best Western really disappointed us this time.

My experience in this hotel was average. 3-4 minutes walk from parliament house and from inner harbour which was good thing but property was looking like little bit old. View in winter time was good because there were no leaves on the trees and it was easy to see through to the harbour side which could be different in summer's. Parking in the hotel is chargeable.

I am a detail person and I can’t help but see things- so don’t take this as heavy handed; overall it was good. I would stay again. It’s in a great location, extremely accessible. The cost for the view I had was great (see through the park to the harbour!). I have never stayed anywhere that was as close to “all the things”. Easy walk to downtown, the parliament building are next door, museum. In summer, this would be an amazing spot to do the harbour tour and eat with a view. Breakfast is as expected, pool was closed, hot tub was open (a little creepy with the camera- but maybe necessary?). I didn’t use the laundry, but it was accessible and clean (said 2$ which seems reasonable!), espresso machine in lobby (included). The carpet in the room has lifted into ridges- fine for me but could be an issue for tripping for seniors, there was a kitchen, but the pots were locked up, I bath and there’s soap and mold under the soap dish (this isn’t uncommon- I’ve seen it in far more $$$ hotels). Value wise this was pretty good, but it should be noted that the access to parking is restricted: it’s 6’6” only. The ramp/ceiling edge may be less, so if you’re close- it may not work. I have a minivan height suv and had to remove the ski rack.

My reason for choosing this property was for a working pool. Sadly, it was an outdoor pool and closed for the season (and minus temperatures!) but the hot tub was working and welcome after a cold day outdoors. Overall, a very nice hotel, nicely kept. Great staff and a very good breakfast included. Close to the tourist center of downtown Victoria yet nice and quiet at night.

Vey much enjoyed our 2 night stay. Clean, quiet room well appointed. Only the closed pool was a bit disappointing but it was minus 12 outside so the indoor whirlpool was a welcome substitute. Close to the local amenities and quiet at night. Great breakfast included. Would stay here again.

Nice comfortable room on a fairly quiet street in downtown Victoria! Close to all of the action and the downtown shopping. Was a bit noisy in our room next to the pool showers but still acceptable. Good rate and nice underground parking for smaller vehicles. Would stay again!

Room was very nice, enjoyed the balcony. We liked having the little kitchenette as it helped feeding our kids. The breakfast was great. Used the hot tub. Location was great for walking around downtown. Staff were friendly.

Front desk staff happily stored our backpacks while we awaited checkin. They offered to call us when our room was ready. They did, and we were able to check in 2 hours early. They offered access to the washroom (bathroom) and happily answered questions about the area.

We arrived on Nov 27 and checked in a bit early which was nice. Had to park on the street which was ok. The first night in the hotel was quiet. The next 2 nights were absolutely horrible. We had boys from a volley ball team staying beside us and all around us. We are seniors here. They were loud, slamming doors in and out until into the early morning. I heard someone leave there at 3:19 am and once again very loud. They left to go downstairs I’m imagining for something to eat then returned. The hotel went silent about 8 am I would say when they had to leave to play volleyball. The next night was just the same and steady. The paper cups at the coffee machine were very small. The breakfast was not very appealing. Our room had lots of room in it which we like but it was not very clean in my opinion. Also the second night in my husband turned over one of his pillows and there was old dried blood all over it. Was so gross! We have stayed at this hotel many times and we love the location. We just like to walk everywhere. I have to say we were pretty disappointed in our stay overall.

The check in was not the greatest I asked about the BW points for my stay and the staff said I don’t get it because I booked with Expedia Also was offered underground parking but not mentioned that it was $$ extra charge so I asked and then refused as free parking on street. I don’t mind paying for parking but just let me know

Many hotels don’t have full sized cribs so I called BW in advance to make sure and they confirmed. I was super pleased it was already in our room and the correct size. We had a beautiful view of the inner harbour and our room had a kitchenette. It didn’t have any dishes but it did have a small fridge and freezer plus an oven and stovetop. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. We will definitely consider staying again and recommend to others visiting Victoria.

Room smelled like dog, asked the front desk for febreeze and they didn't even apologize for the smell. The the sound of mini fridge kept me up all night. Breakfast was awful. Cold and was worse than a school lunch. Patio and location was good. King size bed was comfy.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were great and very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was very much appreciated. We found all areas of the hotel were clean. The quietness was rejuvenating after our busy days. The view of the harbour was spectacular. Thank you to everyone.
