Excellent staff and a fun place to stay.

Great place to stay in Old town Montreal. Great restaurants in walking distance.

The Pros:
Room was clean, comfortable, well-furnished, had everything you could need. Location of the hotel is very convenient as a first-time tourist to Montreal, right in the heart of Old Montreal and very close to public transit options. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
Cons:
The building seems quite old, the interior walls are pretty thin, and the exterior soundproofing leaves something to be desired. We could hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms, the hallway, and out in the street.
The decor is...eclectic. Every square inch seems to be filled with Americana kitsch, Lichtenstein-esque pop art, or photos of semi-obscure celebrities. There is a lot of it. If that kind of stuff appeals to you than this is a plus rather than a drawback, but it felt very visually noisy to me.
There is also a very strange and lingering smell in the lobby. Neither of us could place exactly what it was -- I personally thought it kind of smelled like pancakes that had been left out too long in an old folks home. My fiancee thought it was more like really heavy potpourri tenuously covering up something worse. It's not terrible -- not like a sewer smell or anything like that -- more just weird and noticeable.
Overall:
A very solid option at the price point. Pros outweigh the cons I think. The really important things -- a clean and comfortable room, a helpful staff, and a good location -- this place covers amply.

The LHotel is a no frills hotel that was equivalent to the price. It’s a bit rundown, e.g., carpets are dirty, the water trickles out of the shower head, and the tub was slow to drain.

Unique comfortable hotel located in the perfect location. Quick walk to both Old Montreal and downtown

This is a very charming hotel at a great location in Old Town Montreal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and clean. The furniture are old but the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, choices are limited but very good quality, especially the croissants. The steps you have to take in order to get in then get to the front desk is not very friendly, especially if you have big luggage.

LHotel was very nice. It was super easy to walk around old Montreal and really enjoy the area.

What we liked about this hotel that there was no pets and no smoking, convenient location in old city. Breakfast in the morning was good. We liked croissants they were fresh.
What we didn’t like about in room carpet was dirty not sure if it was even vacuumed. Lots of dust. This rooms require deep cleaning for sure! There were only three bath towels and we are family of five. Overall this hotels grades 3.5 from 5.

Breakfast. Every day the same hurt boiled eggs and 2 different croissants and Lipton tea. No bottle of water in the room. I was carrying my 3 luggage by myself. No food, bar only. No room service. I used Uber eats to have dinner. Nice hallway.

The L hotel and its unique decor is a piece of art in itself.
Its location is perfect for exploring old Montreal. The front desk, valet and other staff were great, accomodating and friendly.
The only drawback to the hotel is the furniture, carpeting and mulitple visible extension cords within the room. This gave the esthetics a weathered look. (We were there 5 years prior and you can tell the difference between past and current).
Aside from its weathered look, it is still a good hotel, with a beautiful lobby and unique character unrivaled by any other hotel.

Really great location. Convenient hotel.

I love the interior of the hotel. Lots of great artwork everywhere you look. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. It's a great location with lots of stuff a short walk away. On the weekends, the breakfast was fine. You could go down to the dining room, get what you needed from a selection of eggs, pastries and yogourts. During the weekdays, things were different. Breakfast was served at the bar and it seemed like you had to ask the staf for everything. They were understaffed for breakfast and I felt like I was bothering the one staff member working the breakfast area every time I had to ask for something. The food was slow to come out and when they brought it out, there wasn't enough. You had to hover near where they would bring the food out or risk missing out.
This is a great place to stay any day of the week but during the weekdays, consider going somewhere else for breakfast.

Cute art gallery/hotel with free croissants, coffee and juice for breakfast. It was perfect for our needs for quick trip to Montreal. There is cute shopping, art galleries and great restaurants close by as well.

Very clean, very quiet, unique and very close to old port. Makes walking around east and enjoyable

Facility itself was nice and room was spacious and reasonably comfortable. 2 stars due to hotel personnel who, after we notified several times that cable TV was out throughout our stay, refused any adjustment to the bill despite knowing of the problem beforehand (learned at check out), failing to notify us and other guests of the issue upon check-in and still refused accommodation.

TV was horrible. Everything else outstanding.
Breakfast only croissants and coffee. More choices would have been better.
Very nice staff.
$6 for a can of coke, really!

My experience at LHotel was disappointing. Firstly, the parking situation was frustrating as they failed to inform about car size limits, leaving me unable to cancel. Moreover, the unexpected parking fee and suggestion to find alternative parking added unnecessary stress. The breakfast offering was subpar, limited to just croissants. The room was noisy, hindering a peaceful stay. Additionally, the persistent issues with the room card and the reception's lack of communication made problem resolution difficult. Overall, a stay marred by communication gaps and unaddressed inconveniences. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

Simply beautiful place! Really special… Great location!

Fantastic hotel in the heard of Old Montreal. Extremely clean, the most comfortable beds, and super helpful front desk staff!

My room was very large but very dark and dreary. The furniture was the same as in the advertisement but there was very little light and I could barely see. The bathroom was large with a little better light. I wouldn't stay there again. On the positive side, it's a very good location for shops and restaurants.

Good location between Old Montreal and downtown, can walk most places. Rooms are nice but a tad dated.

Room was wonderful. However, the coffee maker didn't work. Also, the shower was some kind of sauna/multiple jet thing. It appeared to be dated and also was not fully functional. It functioned as a shower though.

The included breakfast for a night’s stay was very basic and below expectation.

This is a perfect choice for old Montreal. Easy walking to great restaurants and sites. Do be sure to see the Basilica. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean. Every one of the staff members were warm and attentive. We would definitely go back!

Beautiful hotel, great staff, and a good sized room. Great location in the Old Port of Montreal. There were a couple of areas that could use improvement, though. We had to hook the TV up in order to get cable. The cable was actually jammed into the wall by the TV stand. The quaint electric fireplace did not work either. When we pay good money for a hotel we are expecting things to work... The breakfast was disappointing. They had croissants, coffee and warm hard boiled eggs. :(. I've had way better breakfasts at a Super 8. Had to pay extra for parking when we did not read that anywhere in the listing. Still a nice place overall, but could use some fine tuning.
