Great Breakfast at the hotel. We ate at Gasbar restaurant
The noise on the street below in the morning was a little more than our expectations.

The location was perfect across from the St. Lawrence Waterway and near historical sights.

Very welcoming and gracious hotel staff, especially front desk and concierge.

Room was small for the price

Great location and well maintained.
Street noise is terrible. Windows should be sound proof.

Amazing location, very warm, friendly and helpful staff. The lobby is spacious and comfortable and a great place to sit and chat with family. The terrace bar is convenient with excellent views of the city and fireworks at night in the summer.
Bed was too soft and room frequently smelled a little musty when it wasn't smelling like the restaurant (which was not a bad thing but you have to like that). We were on top floor below terrace bar/restaurant and it was a bit noisy at night from the music but we didn't mind.

Hotel well located. Restaurant staff excellent, hotel staff not so great. Room was large
Needs to be modernized (ie. Open toilet in bathroom, hotel furniture needs to be updated). Room smelled like beef (must be a restaurant exhaust fan nearby). Frequently had to use stairs to get to room (no reason staff should be using guest elevator). I dont expect to climb stairs at luxury prices. Also told it was difficult to fulfill request like additional hangers or guest room umbrella. Again, dont expect this for a luxury hotel. Friends on lower floors complained about street noice until early morning hours

Staff was super friendly. Hotel room was very clean.
I didn't know how the bath worked. Instructions would have been helpful.
There was a dance party nearby that went on with very Load Bass that lasted really, really late.
The pillows were awful. Too full and too firm. I softer, less full version should be offered to avoid crink-neck.

The staff was fabulous. The room was beautiful. The bed was comfy. The bath and shower were divine.
The rooftop bar and restaurant were wonderful and the views of Montreal and the port were spectacular.
The food and the cocktails were yummy. The location in the old city was so great. We thought we were in
Europe.
Nothing to say here.

The location in Vieux Port is great - very walkable -near the Metro - lots of restaurants and shops to browse. The hotel itself is in an old building - very handsome - great shower and bed and the staff is helpful, cheerful, and young - they know a lot about their area.
AVP is in a great location - which makes its surroundings very crowded and noisy at busy times. But what are you gonna do? My room was on the 3rd floor, with big windows - so I heard some street noise - but it wasn't terrible.

Exceptional young staff bend over backwards to assist you. Wonderfully comfortable lobby areas and two very fine restaurants on the premises. Bed was huge and comfy. And the location was ideal: at the centre of the Vieux Port facing the quai-side promenade, with a view of Cirque de Soleil and the Grande Roue (ferris wheel). An easy walk to downtown or a Metro Station.
I generally prefer a firmer mattress. The thermostat did not respond to being reset (23.5 degrees is too warm for sleeping) and it was impossible to find cold water on the swivel tap.

Unbeatable location, very nice staff & housekeeping (& amazing espresso machine in room!) Huge beautiful windows overlooking St. Lawrence but weirdly & sloppily siliconed shut, presumably due to drafts?
We knew there was no breakfast but were disappointed that the “minibar, roof terrace & coffee & cookies all day” shown in listing have all been discontinued “due to Covid”?!
Charged $84 for parking ($42/night) at check-in then found free parking out front 2nd night - was told I’d be refunded but was not? Great location tho river view is mostly parking garage & plenty of other similar hotels in area for less than $250/night - with breakfast & more amenities! 🤔

Great location in the old city, within walking distance of most things you'd want; restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, the cathedral etc.
Staff were all great, and I think they were really what made the hotel exceptional. Everyone at the front desk was eager to help make our stay better.
The room itself was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed. The bed was great if you like a soft mattress, which we do. The brick and stone walls really add to the overall feel of the hotel.
The attached restaurant was also very good, if you just want to stay in for dinner and not go out wandering.
The only downside was that the walls which were not brick or stone were incredibly thin. We could hear every conversation in the neighboring room, and it didn't seem like our neighbors were exceptionally loud. Similarly, we could hear everything going on in the hallway as well, which could be frustrating if you're trying to get to sleep early.

Great location, lovely and helpful staff and nice lobby and lounge area.
We were surprised to have such a small window facing the river in our room. We expected to have one of the rooms with the iron balustrade and large river-facing windows. Our room was dark as a result of the small window.

the walls were a bit thin so we heard people walking around in the room above us and sometimes loud talking in the hallways.
