Even better than pictures, location was amazing and host very responsive

This family cottage was perfect in every way. Its location cannot be beat - on the water with a direct view of the mountain. The house was spotless and we could not believe how perfect the house and location were - even better than the pictures.

The property was perfect and there isn’t a single thing we would change.

Amazing location and views

This property must be one of the best locations to stay anywhere in Iceland. Although the property looks a little tired from the outside and no longer has a hot tub, the interior was really lovely and well equipped. As a family of five, having four bedrooms was really appreciated. Best of all was sitting in the conservatory and taking in the views. Communication with the host (Eva) was really good and the property offered good value for money given the premium location.

The arctic terns dive bombing us in what must obviously be their nesting season. Seriously, they didnt cause us a problem, it was just a little surprise. A hot tub would have been wonderful, but then the cost of the property would probably increase to cover this cost.

great location, very spacious for a family of 5 adults, communication/ response time with the host was quick

use better room darkening blinds in all sleeping rooms, found the blinds in the main bedroom did not darken the room enough for a summer trip, no soap or shampoo provided. For the price this should be supplied.

I would absolutely stay there again if I visit that part of Iceland. Incredible views.

The location, the location, the location. Unreal how beautiful the view from the house is.

Two of the heaters did not work and the the house needs better blackout curtains. The bedroom 1 did not have blackout curtains at all. We used bedsheets to darken the room.

To stay in a room overlooking the famed Kirjufell was like a dream. Wish we had a longer stay

The views from the property are gorgeous. It is serene and quaint. The property manager Eva was very responsive and accommodating. Would love to come back!

I recommend this guesthouse to everyone who happens to be in the area. We'd love to come back.

The house has a magnificent location, very nice rooms, and the service provided was top-notch. The owner had provided very clear instructions how to get there, which was very kind and helpful.

location, enough towels, beds were good, excellent view and extra kitchen groceries/ spices

late check in at last minute, couldn’t get in to 5 pm after our international flight that day, confusion on how to operate the lock on door, directions on how to operate the stove would be helpful and front panel of bathroom vanity needs to be replaced.

Generally very good experience except the cleaning fee which was too expensive

The location was very nice, great view, and environment was quite.

Did not expect clean fee of 80 euro for just one night. We, 4 adults, maintained everything clean during our stay. 80 euro for cleaning was unreasonable to our stay.

Fabulous family get away and so much to experience on site.

Gorgeous views! Spacious layout with full kitchen. Perfect for families! Right down the street from Bjargarsteinn Mathus, a culinary experience! Not far from Olafvik for whale tours and Stykkholmur for the ferry. Our kids witnessed an amazing snow storm, saw a sea lion and were able to sled— all on site.

Everything was set up nicely for a family. Only two things could have been improved- more hot water for the showers and fewer flies. This is a fabulous place with some of the most striking views on Snaellfelness peninsula.

Magical Christmas Stay!

Simply magical! We stayed over Christmas holiday and the house was just perfect. All the amenities we needed and the location is simply unbeatable. The house was in a great location for exploring the peninsula and watching for Northern Lights right from the dining room (and even the bedroom!) was such a special experience (attached photo taken in the front yard). Thank you so much for an amazing holiday!

A picture-perfect home in Grundarfjorder. Stay at least 2 nights.

The location is absolutely stunning. The home itself is large and will accommodate a large party. We were very comfortable. The host Eva was super kind and charming. She even brought us extra towels at our request. But again, the highlight is the view and the proximity to Grundarfjordur, Kirkufell, and the entire peninsula. The kitchen is entirely modern with all cookware you could possibly need (we cooked in twice). Oh, and I did I mention the Icelandic horses? What a dream to wake up one morning and find them grazing outside our window.

Large parties should be warned that there is only one, small bathroom with a shower. Wait your turn, and you'll be fine. But when two people have to use the toilet, there may be a brawl! ;) Also note that the exterior may need a fresh coat of paint, but you should consider that this area can be rather inhospitable weather-wise... and the inside is warm, clean, and comfortable.
