This was my second time using this property for a multiple night stay in Wasilla. It is the perfect place to be near everything you need in Wasilla but out in a beautiful, quiet setting. I will certainly stay at this property again.

We loved the location. We took many day trips to various attractions. The lake was an added plus. We had plenty of room for everyone. We hope to make it back some day.

This property is well stocked with everyday needed items. (Toilet paper, Kleenex, towels, laundry detergent etc). The only issue for us was the hot water. Showers would go cold for several minutes in the middle of the showers. We would be sure to tell each other that we were showering so not one would turn on water somewhere else but it still happened. Not sure why but it is annoying especially when washing hair. Brrrrrr.

Great house! Great Vacation!
Our family of 10 enjoyed every minute in this lovely home! The beds were comfortable and the lake was wonderful! We made use of the kayaks and also fished. Daniel, the homeowner was so accommodating. He promptly took care of our every need. If we ever get to come back to Alaska we will definitely stay here again.

We were in love with this place and location. The home was very comfortable with lots of memories and personality written within its walls. The lake was a dream! The calm glassy water with its surrounding trees filled our souls not to mention the great fishing we all enjoyed! We drove up to Talkeetna (hour and a half away) and took a flight over Denali. Incredible and fulfilling! Thanks you Daniel for a perfect memory of our time in Wasilla! You were helpful, kind and welcoming! We will miss this place and hope to return again some day!

We were in Alaska for a wedding with 4 kids. We’ve stayed in several Vrbo’s and this was one of the best.
It’s the perfect size for a large family. Plenty of room. Very clean. They had everything you need, almost like home.
It rained most of our stay so we didn’t get to take advantage of the lake, but the house is located not far from Wasilla and there are plenty of activities in the surrounding areas.
I would highly recommend this location.
Thanks for the great experience!!

Memory Lake
We had the most amazing trip to Alaska. Our house on Memory Lake was more than we expected. The owner provided a row boat, kayaks and a ton of fishing equipment so we were all set for evening out on the lake boating and fishing. We spent days going to Denali and walking out in the glacier which was fantastic. The owner stopped by to welcome us and provided us with great information on the area and gave us a salmon he had so we had dinner one night. Everyone was so friendly and Dan, the owner, went out of his way to make us welcome in this home.

1. Owner states,
"It is highly unlikely that you will see me, however on occasion, If in town, i may utilize a room behind the garage apart from the house when attending to maintenance or service." REALITY- owner stays on site the whole time, in the garage, utilizes the same deck, roams yard occasionally, and had many cars/ visitors coming and going daily!
2. Ongoing maintenance issues including an electrical wire out in the yard in the open- VERY DANGEROUS TO CHILDREN. No doorknob on back door.
3. Hot water was a major issue, owner stated that the water takes a while to get hot. It did, but it also randomly got cold, especially if someone washes hands or flushes the toilet elsewhere. We had many cold showers due to this issue. The water doesn't return to warm unless you shut it off and turn it back on.
4. BEWARE of the washing machine, ruins clothing, left yellow spots on multiple garments.
5. Short steps, 2 people fell down the steps, one resulted in emergency room visit.
5. Spiders and cobwebs everywhere. Killed 3 spiders first night in the bedroom.
6. Beds were comfortable except for bunk bed, one hide-a-bed was broken.

Great lake house for staycation
We had a really nice time at this place. It's a great lake house and Daniel was very helpful. The best part is the property has a floating deck, canoe and kayaks so the entire family can enjoy the lake. Overall a great family vacation place.

Memory Lake is a delightful semi-rural location on the outskirts of Wasilla. Close enough to town for supplies, far enough to be away from it all. The house and dock are superb for a family of 5, kids included, and having access to kayaks, paddles, and PFDs made it all the better. Dan the property owner was great and very helpful. We will be back!

great alaska trip for 4 Tennesseans and 2 North Carolina people
July 2020 -- Memory Lake house was great - especially enjoyed the water toys that Daniel provides to his guests. My son, husband and Nephew spent many hours fishing at the house's private dock. Also used the john boat and kayak to go fishing in. The view from the dock was amazing. The house was centrally located between Denali and Seward. It was very comfortable for 6 of us. Went hiking and gold panning at Hatcher's pass (20min drive). Took a fantastic 6hr National Park Tour (wildlife/glacier cruise) out of Seward with Kenai Fjords Tours. We saw a sea otter, 2 pods of orca whales, dalls porpoises (really fast swimmers) and humpback whales. The aialik glacier was the highlight of the cruise. It was breath-taking even from the distance. Lots of good pictures. Walked on the Matanuska Glacier which is 1.5 hours from house. Cost $35 but it was worth it to explore a glacier with your own feet. Toured Anchorage (1 hr from the house). Saw a bull moose 2 feet off the Tony Knowles walking path in Anchorage. Went to the Anchorage market on Sunday - not many vendors there. Went to Shipps Creek walkway over dam on Sunday. it was closed. Hint: Sunday not good day 2 tour Anchorage. We went on a 5hr private tour of Denali National Park with walkdenali tours. Lots of beautiful pictures. In the park, we saw bull and cow moose, caribou and dall sheep. No bears. My husband and son went fishing and caught some Sockeye Salmon on their fishing expedition. Drove to Whittier in about 2 hours (from house) via the Anton Anderson Memorial tunnel. The tunnel was a bit scarey with just one narrow lane, but fun. Thank you Daniel for your beautiful house, excellent advise/hospitality and fantastic halibut and salmon dinner. Also it rained off and on all week so take rain gear.

July 2020 Review
We absolutely enjoyed our stay! We found the property to be very well stocked, to the point that we felt we could have shown up with just our clothing and had everything we really needed. The property owner was so friendly and made us feel at home. We planned 2 days of our trip to spend time at the property and we really enjoyed that time. We took advantage of the kayaks, row boat and fishing gear. We would love to stay at this property again. Highly recommend!

VRBO in Wasilla
Property was in a quiet location away from Anchorage. We thoroughly enjoyed the remoteness of the property. Pleasantly pleased with the extras provided- laundry soap, breakfast things, coffee and tea. Wished we had more time to enjoy the property. Would definitely come again!

Perfect location to start our family vacation.
Landed in Anchorage, picked up some groceries and drove to home on Memory Lake. Only issue we had was the code given for front door did not work but owner Dan was on the property and immediately re-programmed the lock for us. Dan was very helpful in explaining things to do in the area and even gave us a whole red salmon he recently caught. We enjoyed the salmon cooked on the grill. Even though Dan appears to live on the property, we never saw him again after our initial meeting. Property was exactly as described and was well stocked with spices and paper goods left by previous quests. Washer and dryer was a big plus since we didn't have to pack as many clothes for our 2 week Alaskan vacation. We got an added bonus as the apple trees were loaded with ripe fruit during our stay August 16-19 as was a great addition to our home cooked breakfast each morning. Also home is a split level so only a half a flight of stairs to either get to the upstairs bedrooms or down stairs bedrooms which was a great bonus since we were traveling with our 80 year old parents. Dan has a large assortment of fishing rods for his guest to use as well as a kayak and a canoe unfortunately it was incredibly windy during our stay therefore we were unable to fish with any success or doing any excursions on the lake. Home is conveniently located to Palmer, the Matanuska glacier (which we would recommend a guided hike) and the Glenn Highway which is very scenic. If we are ever in Alaska again, we will look into renting this home again as it accommodated our group of 8 family members very comfortably, 2 of which we celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
Dan, Thank you for being a great host and we all hope to get to see you again in the near future.
