Secluded but only, 1 hr from Portland Airport and 45+ min to historic Astoria Oregon, and Washington beach and coastal towns, for day trips. This is also a favorite Seattle-Portland-San Francisco long weekend escape. Many sports: boating, sailing, paddle boarding, fishing, hiking and touring. Boat ramp-dock (10 ft deep). Pets We regret that several negative incidents with guest pets including injuries to farm animals, kids and adults, along with allergy reactions by owners, causes us to no longer accept pets - sorry. There are several pet lodging facilities nearby if recommendations are requested. Business Office Ready We often rent to subcontractor work crews from Wauna (20 min), Longview (20min), Vancouver (40 min), Portland (60 min). Fiberoptic 120MBS Internet. But the local Safeway grocery is only 10 minutes in Clatskanie and open until 11:00PM. The deck is great for: entertaining with a gas barbecue, toasting the sunsets, or watching the waterfowl and eagles. Life jackets and a few fishing poles are available. Guest access Guests have use of the entire house, dock, 5 acre lawn, and Boat ramp usage is also included. A few water toys are available to to use. A few life jackets for adults and children are available but you may want your own for your kids. Life jackets always needed for water sports. Swimming off dock available for good swimmers or those with life jackets, but water too deep for wading. Guest interaction There is a nearby host available to handle any issues that may arise during the stay Neighborhood overview This is a rare rural-farm neighborhood area on the lower Columbia where the homes are total river front without crossing a road to get to the river. Your dock starts 30 feet from the house front door. Paved roads are available for country biking (but no bike lanes), and you can hike within our 200 acres of foothill timberland providing outstanding views. Fishing Guidance - Chartering I have talked to the folks at "Gone Catchin Guide" Service . Oregon hunting and fishing licenses and limited gear are available 10 minutes away in Clatskanie. Also, Bob's Sports in Longview (30 minutes) is the Largest fishing supply selection in northwest. You can fish the Columbia River with either an Oregon or Washington fishing license. I recommend doing some charter fishing if you don't have your own boat. The charter captains know how to fish them best. Charters are available in Longview, Astoria and a few other locations along the river. Contact me for recommendations. Getting around Off street parking for cars, boat trailers or RV. We have RV power and water available but not sewer hook-ups House manual Please - No Smoking in house. Front and back decks are perfect places. Barbecue is propane. The house had plenty of room and is located in a quiet, out of the way place so we had plenty of peace and quiet. We enjoyed watching the river and seeing the different wildlife.

Three generations of family could enjoy together and apart. Groups could come and go with ease. Kitchen was well stocked (could use a 12x14 cake pan but we made do). The dining room was good for puzzling and group dinning. The windows and the view were perfect to just sit and enjoy. Loved the dock, plan to bring a swimming ladder next time so us old folks can get in and out. The TV and internet must have been OK because we didn't hear any complaining from the youngsters. Oh my sister could have used a new frying pan - she burnt the chopped onions. In short it was one of our best family vacations.

Beautiful home and location
Our group of 4 families loved our time here. Plenty of space inside and out for all of us. We loved being able to fish, swim and kayak off the dock. The kids enjoyed playing soccer & tag outside. With the summer sun they were outside playing until 10pm! Huge dining table was great for card games. Beds were comfy and the rooms were large. Location is also a great home base to explore coastal Oregon & Mt. St. Helens. The aquatic center in Astoria was a hit for all ages. The hike down to Beaver Falls was beautiful although a bit more difficult than we anticipated.
Jim was a very helpful host and this property is well loved and cared for. If we come this way again we would definitely look to stay here.

Yard is big but not at all even, beware of little holes and biting flys!
Owner (Jim) is super nice man as is Holly (Housekeeper), both were helpful.

The owner was beyond accommodating. He was full of tips and suggestions. The house is better than the pictures show. We had everything we needed. We took advantage of the BBQ and firepit. Kids loved fishing off the dock. This location is secluded but close enough to drive to Astoria, Mount St. Helen's area, and Portland. Beaver Falls, Jone's Beach, Ape Caves and the local thrift stores were our favorites! We will be back again!

Awesome Riverfront Experience!
We couldn't have been more pleased to stay nearly a month at this riverfront home! Constant tranquil views from the house, nesting Osprey, hunting Kestrels and Northern Harriers, migrating wildlife, amazing sunrises and glow of the water from bed through the balcony slider. Our family dog was welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the grassy lawns and nearby cows! My husband brought his SUP board and enjoyed his tours of the river. The weather in April was amazing! Clatskanie is a perfect base location for visits to Portland, Astoria, and the north coast towns in OR/WA. Jim was a wonderful host! We will be back to rent another of Jim's properties for sure!

Can't say enough about the whole experience!
Loved everything about our stay and this house and property. Manager was so kind, he even let us raid his garden and we ate squash and salad from it. So good! The property is amazing and gigantic. Watching the birds and fishing off the dock was so relaxing. We'll be back for sure!

Great price with a lot to do
The house is large and there is a lot to do. While we were there, they set up disc golf in the surrounding property, which was fun. Also, kayaking was fun. The two complaints we had were that there are only four bedrooms (not five as stated in the listing) and that there was not nearly enough toilet paper stocked. But overall, I would recommend this place!

Great house on the Columbia River
Jim's house was a great experience! The location was right on the Columbia River and Jim was very easy to reach and lives right down the street. He let us borrow a kayak and we were able to explore some of the marsh areas and see a lot of wildlife. Although the house feels very secluded, it was only 10 minutes from town and 10 minutes from a beautiful hike at Beaver Falls. The house was well-equipped with kitchen utensils, linens, towels, etc. and had a lot of room for everyone. We only have 6 adults stay this time, but the house can definitely fit many more. We really enjoyed our experience and would definitely book this house again with hopefully more sunny days to enjoy the dock more!

It was fun
The house was nice with lots of space. It is only 4 bedrooms not 5 like advertising says. There is a jet tub but i wouldnt recommend using it because it spits algee out when jets are on. Also the cuttingboards in the counters were dirty when we got there. Loved the house and the location. Also the owner lives on the same road so anything that needs to be addressed can quickly.

Nice and quiet stay
We really enjoyed our stay at this property! We were visiting friend that lived in Clatskanie so we were only 10 minutes from them. It was perfect! We got groceries at the beginning of the week, and were pleasantly surprised to see all of the pots, pans, utensils and spices that were available. Being right on the River was such a beautiful sight! We will definitely stay again.

Good place for a family Christmas gathering.
This was a good place for a family Christmas gathering. We appreciated the ability for each couple to have their own space for sleeping and their own bathrooms and that there is a big enough kitchen and dining area for our big group, which included two toddlers. Plus the views of the river and being able to watch wildlife was a treat.

A visual bit of paradise
It took us about five days to adapt to the fact that we were really seeing what we were seeing out the windows -- the light, the river's changing reflections, the morning mist, the birds, the fiery reds and misty blues in the sky, the peace. Every time I walked into the kitchen I'd stop and stare and then just have to go out onto the deck... Seeing the ethanol plant out one side of the house didn't even register as "unnatural" somehow. While the pots and pans were a bit funky from wear, the house was spotless and serene. A rare place in my experience.
