Able to accommodate me in very short notice. Lovely friendly lady on reception. Room was lovely.
I booked table in restaurant 6.30 . Was looking forward to one of the Sunday roast dinners. All roasts were sold out. No steaks and other items on menu not available. Poor show for a Sunday. What I had was nice though.

The hotel was very nice, but it seems they were very under staffed.
I waited for nearly 24 hours for the hotel to supply me with toiletries, etc. After telling them more than once. Then we decided to order dinner the sunday evening. Nobody told us how busy they were. So we went ahead and ordered. We waited nearly an hour for a sharing platter, no sorry for the wait or anything. Eventually, we decided to go back to our room. The platter arrived looking like it had been thrown on the plate. It was awful. After complaining, we were offered a refund, a month later, and still waiting for that refund, which is supposed to come from Booking .com as the hotel said it refunded it to them. I left it this long to write the review because if we had seen the refund, i would not have written about this issue.

A lovely friendly Olde Worldy hotel
The staff are extremely friendly and the property is good value for money so there is nothing that I particularly dislike about this property

The room was boiling!

Tired and grubby room, we had to use cleansing wipes over all surfaces. Bathroom extractor didn’t work and hadn’t done so for a long time as there was black mould on the ceiling and the metal waste bin was rusted. Also shower curtain was stained and although we had a bath towel each there was only one small towel to share. The welcome tray was basic with no bottled water. Breakfast was no better, having to return both because some cooked food was cold. No fresh tea or coffee just flasks of water and coffee!

The breakfast was low standard. And location was good
Property very dated damp on walls. Food choice limited lots of dishes and drinks missing of the menu avocado off prawns frozen lettuce mouldy. Had to walk the long way around the building the alternative was to walk through the smokers yard and smell of smoke

Very good location
There was a very noisy wedding downstairs, which I was only told about when I checked in…?!

Friendly staff, location is right by town so everything is within walking distance, clean and modern, small river runs round the back so lucky enough to have this outside our room seeing wildlife.
couple of issues with the room but was all sorted by the staff

Staff were very helpful, good team.
The franchising of the car park. The hotel should take responsibility. I registered my car on check in and was not pleased to get a parking ticket from the parking company.

Love the big room we had with the sound of the river bubbling up from below.
Cigarette butts in the passageway outside the entrance to our accommodation block

Nice quiet room. with a view of the river.
Coffee and tea at breakfast were disappointing. My husband asked for tea in a teapot which was much better than making tea in a cup from a teabag and not very hot water. It would have been nice to get a freshly made up of coffee.

Rooms and communal areas nicely decorated. comfortable bed and lovely shower. good service.
There’s room for improvement with breakfast. on the first morning there was barely any continental options available. there was no water and a lack of cutlery or sugars. the quality of the cooked breakfast was poor. that said, the second days breakfast vastly improved. the cooked breakfast was better excited and nice and got. there was a fair amount of continental options and even water.
