About this condo rental
Nestled in Bend, this attractive condo for R 3,214 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. If you are looking for a place that is close to it all, then the Downtown Abbey is for you! This condo is within walking distance of downtown Bend, right off the Deschutes River and with easy access to the free-way. You really can't beat the central location we have here. Along with such a great central location, our condos offer a full size kitchen complete with Rachel Ray cookware, oven, microwave, coffee pot and more! The kitchen has a very open feel to it so while you are cooking you can still entertain guests you may have over. The living room features a fireplace, closet, sofa and a bathroom separate from the master bathroom in the bedroom. This unit is great for a couple looking to spend a few days getaway. Our condos also offer A/C for those warm summer days, and a heater for those chilly winter days. This condo of 152/153 is located on the second floor of our Pioneer Park Condominiums. These condos were built in the 1970s as a "condotel" but have been reintroduced as vacation rentals. Each condo is individually owned so they are all different in their own ways. Our place is unique as each condo has personal touches from the owner.

Stay was nice and condo was clean. There was noise from condo above in the morning and evenings, footsteps, showers, doors shutting. Parking was not the easiest due to building layout and traffic flow.

This unit left much to be desired. When you enter, the coating on the floor makes walking around very squeaky, shoes or no shoes, only quiet if wall in socks. The bed was more like full size and what I find at my grandma’s spare bedroom. Seriously, for the money I spent after you add all the fees, please get a new bed. The front bathroom sink was clogged and the other bathroom toilet has a slow leak. The living room was very sterile feeling. Needs a coffee table and area rug to warm up the space a little and not feel like I’m at the doctors office. I do not usually leave negative reviews, but other than being clean and decent location to downtown, this place wasn’t an enjoyable place to stay for what it cost once you add all the fees which basically doubles the price per night.

great location. the 2 room layout was fine, but a little odd the second room did not have a bed/pull out couch.

i had a great stay at this property. the balconies were an added bonus. close enough to walk to shops and restaurants (maybe on the edge of too far if the weather is bad). the pictures show a sofa but there is 3 chairs and no sofa. had all the amenities you could need

Clean and comfortable. Unable to get the TV to work, but the kitchen was nice and bed was comfortable. Liked a lot how hot the shower was. Very pleasant stay and a nice location. Would most definitely stay on this property again!

Some rooms are better than others as they are converting several. We ended up changing to a smaller more updated unit and we’re very happy. Communication good

Perfect location for a quick get away to Bend.

The place was nice and clean, check-in process was super easy and management was very quick to respond when I emailed any questions I had and its close to downtown pubs and restaurants. Only real complaint I will say is that the mattress in the bedroom needs replacing, it was very very uncomfortable but the Murphy bed in living room wasn't bad the second night. The train that passes through at 2am and 3am was only noticeable if you left sliders open. The people upstairs are heavy footed but nothing you can do about that :) overall it was a nice place to stay.

Convenient Location
We did not arrive until close to midnight but had no trouble finding or accessing the unit. We were in Bend to visit our daughter, son-in-law, and newborn grandson and the unit turned out to be less than two miles away from their apartment which made the rental very convenient for our needs. I loved the fireplace! It was great having two full bathrooms so we could shower and get dressed in minutes, giving us more time with the family. The complex itself seemed a bit dated and would benefit from some updates/modernizations/ renovations. We were only there for three days but would have chosen a different rental if our stay was longer term.

Nice and clean unit, with one BIG exception.
This property was well situated; a lovely parklike setting/view close to downtown Bend, quiet and peaceful but also has easy access to the highway as well. We've stayed in that same complex before but in a different unit. Don't mind the stairs at all since this unit is large, well furnished, very clean and has everything in it you would need for a fun and comfortable visit...except one very important thing...usable heat (although heat was listed in the description). It happens that we were there during a cold snap with temps really dropping, especially at night. Since there was no thermostat and no floor vents, no renter booklet in the unit, and only an air conditioning unit on the wall (we looked up the model number and it doesn't generate any heat , only a/c), we phoned the number given to us. The young lady was very nice, but was not able to assist (too long a story to go into) and since it was a weekend, she promised to have someone contact us. Well, I think we messaged back and forth with at least two or three others via VRBO messaging but what it comes down to is that no one could actually tell us where the "heat pump to keep you warm during ski season" was that was in the listing, and no one could really tell us where any controls were for any heat or how we would turn it on. Even the Front Desk Supervisor at Bend Riverside Rentals messaged us only AFTER we left, to say they had been out for a few days so someone who is not in Bend had been covering the phone and inbox for them, that is why no one from the office has been able to come over and check out this issue for us. Really??? The unit was very cold during our stay, uncomfortably so. Although there is a gas fireplace that helped in the evening, whatever heat was generated didn't reach the bedroom/bathroom area and we didn't feel that it was safe to leave it on overnight. Thus we woke up to a very cold unit.. Yet after our stay, we were just told, "Oops, too bad but sorry, we were away"??? I'm sure any VRBO renter would agree that this isn't acceptable. I think that we at least have deserved a partial refund for this situation, but none was offered. Very disappointing since this is the first short term rental experience we've had that I was not able to leave a very good rating. Between the lack of heat and the lack of concern by those managing the unit for our comfort or satisfaction, I would not recommend staying here.
