Avoid the highways and sneak your way around traffic. PPG Arena is walking distance, and many desirable dining and sight-seeing spots are quick trips by car or Uber. The Oakland neighborhood (home of Pitt, Carnegie Melon, museums, and UPMC) is just 10 minutes away on side streets. Also nearby (10 minute drive) is the lively and walkable Strip Disctrict, with many dining options, The Heinz History Museum and the David E. Lawrence Convention Center. The August Wilson House and events center is less than 5 minutes away on foot. PPG Arena is walking distance for those who wish to avoid traffic and parking costs, but there is a fairly steep climb on the way back. If you don't want to drive, we recommend using Lyft/Uber from this location.
