Wonderful hotel run by a warm, friendly host who couldn't have done more for us. We had a great time. The hotel was comfortable and warm, the food was lovely and the collection of artefacts from around the world was inspiring. His garden is beautiful. We felt like part of his extended friendship group rather than formal guests and were made to feel very welcome. He even gave us a lift to the station. Thank you :)

We stayed in the Rose Room which was decorated tastefully and had a very comfortable bed. We really enjoyed our stay with a lovely breakfast included. A comfortable and warm hotel! We loved the decorations in the breakfast room and were even given a Roman Helmet to try on 😄 we would happily stay again

The cost was great, the breakfast was lovely with Stan’s own free range eggs and honey, the host was brilliant and could not do enough to make our stay good, including recommending places to eat and even driving us there!
Only criticism is one of the windows was stuck shut but we were too tired to mention it at the time so I’m sure if we would have then Stan would’ve fixed it
