Hyatt Place Buffalo / Amherst, NY

The floor staff is great. Very friendly. But room assignment: I always wonder why, when someone checks into a hotel and there’s lots of availability, a guest is given one of the worst possible rooms in the place. My initial room was at the end of a long corridor, directly overlooking an ugly roof with all sorts of mechanical equipment on it and a busy highway interchange. The air conditioner in the room was humming very loudly so I went back to the desk to ask for another room upon which I was given a room with a lovely unobstructed view, overlooking the back of the hotel over a river and the autumn foliage. Why wouldn’t I be given that room right from the start? It just annoyed me from the start. If the hotel had been chockablock, I could understand it, but it wasn’t.

Clean and well maintained property. Breakfast was ok
