When I first arrived, there was a large solid gate that had to be opened by the staff to allow entrance. At first, I thought that would be an inconvenience, but it was not. The staff was super efficient about monitoring as I approached, and opening the gate for me. I had to leave early in the morning (4 AM) and the staff member was ready for me to open the gate for my departure. So what I thought was going to be an issue, was not. Everything else at the hotel was wonderful. My room was excellent, they had a small pool, which was refreshing And the staff was extremely helpful in so many ways. The location was also good, close to restaurants and a good sized shopping mall.

The hotel property and the rooms are very clean and welcoming. I moved to a larger studio when I discovered I needed to stay longer. Both beds were very comfortable, multiple quality pillows and high end sheets and blanket. A.C. worked perfect in both rooms. The staff are excellent in their duties and customer service. Fresh omelettes, fruit and coffee by the pool every morning was very nice. The outside of the hotel is very understated, but once you come into the property, it is very impressive and comfortable. It is walking distance to a convenience store, many restaurants and a mall that has many restaurants and stores to choose from. I reccomend this hotel if you are needing to be in this area.

Quiet location but close to mall and other attractions. However, other side of town from airport. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value.

This is the cutest little place. The staff is incredible and the restaurant across the street is AMAZING! One of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at! The little boutique next to it is also fabulous. Great location and great place

Small, quiet, safe oasis in the center of Managua. Good breakfast. I would definitely return. Rooms around the pool have more natural daylight.

They really did their best to make me happy. The place is secure and quite friendly. Staff were superb and responded to my needs. Lovely, serene campus. Well appointed room.

Safety was good inside hotel and it was close to shopping to walk but it was ill advised for safety reasons.

I was delighted in how beautiful the room was. The bathroom sink had a beautiful orange tile. The room was quite large with high ceiling. Amazing kitchen amenities. I really enjoyed the room and also the pool. There was a beautiful palm tree next to pool and many pretty flowered plants. A worker was carefully cutting old fern leaves off the fern plants. Very well cared for plants and rooms.

We stay at Hotel El Almendro each time we are in Managua.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful, aiming to please. They are very accommodating by arranging transportation to and from the airport, and other locations. They also help with ordering from restaurants when you don't want to leave the hotel for a meal.
The rooms are clean and comfortable.
The facility is very peaceful in a very chaotic city. We enjoy the flora and water features.
Hanging out by the pool is pleasant anytime of day or evening.
We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return again and again.

A little on the over priced side as I paid 100 $ per night. The staff was excellent.
The shower had only a trickle of hot water so very disappointing. The pool is really a kiddie pool and walls so high, it’s really not a good location for sunbathing.
It’s a great hotel, perfect for passing through and going on to the next city.
There were more lavish rooms, I stayed in the basic with kitchenettes

We stay in Managua regularly, but this was our first time at Hotel El Almendro. The customer service was fantastic—very helpful. When we asked about where to eat locally, the manager (who was on her way out) offered to drive us the 3 block rather than give directions.
The bathroom was very large with lots of counter space. The bed was comfy. The room was a bit small to be able to lay out suitcases, but reasonable. The only minor inconvenience was that the water pressure is low, so showers are a bit wimpy. But, the hot water is very hot, so you can mix cold water in to help.
Breakfast was yummy, and the ambiance was superb.
Even though the hotel is in the city, it was quite quiet—no earplugs needed. We will definitely stay there again.

The hotel is clean and comfortable, with friendly and accommodating staff. I appreciated the details - the courtyards with fountains, tasty breakfasts, hot showers, and free bottles of water. The hotel is very close to the UCA bus station, a mall, and several good dining options. Unfortunately, you'll have to take a taxi at night as the neighborhood isn't the most walkable.

This is a nice little hotel right by the university. We wanted to be able to walk to the bus to Leon, and this was perfect. We arrived at the airport in the evening and were picked up by the taxi I arranged through the hotel ($15). We had dinner at a good restaurant right across the street that serves typical Nicaraguan fare, then settled in. The breakfast was nice- Gallo pinto, eggs, breads, fruit, coffee, juice. The air conditioning was too cold, but I should have asked them how to turn it off.

The staff was very friendly. The room was spacious. The unexpected item was a generator. There are a lot of rolling blackouts in Central America. The property did not skip a beat with this added feature.

Good for the price, nice staff, ok area for Managua (close to Metrocentro mall, and a few local restaurants around - which is good because the hotel doesn't have any restaurants).
My room was rather small and dark, but had a desk and chair to work. Tiny bathroom with questionable water pressure (but hot water that was actually hot!)
They didn't change the towels daily.
Breakfast was typical local fare with fruits, gallo pinto and eggs cooked to order.
Wifi worked and looks like they had good coverage across the hotel.
Laundry service was prompt and pretty good.
Overall OK experience, no sure I'll repeat tho.

Stayed at this hotel before flying out of MGA the next morning, reception was extremely kind and welcoming, tried to give us recommendations for dinner but our Spanish was not great so we may have misunderstood, walking distance to gas station with ATM and snacks, McDonalds, and a shopping mall with movie theater (certain showtimes in English!), cooked to order breakfast of eggs and gallo pinto was delicious, all staff made us feel welcome, would definitely stay here again

Great hotel 3 blocks from MetroCentro in Managua. Clean, quiet, safe with good wi-fi, great staff and a ample breakfast (decent coffee, fresh fruit, toast, cook to order eggs, fresh squeezed juice). The best hotel at the lowest price on a three week stay in Central and South America. I will only stay here when in Managua from now on!
