For those who love scenery, this is the place for u. Love the beautiful mountains landscapes, staffs are very eager to help and friendly and good food. The outdoor seating will be best during cool season.

It's quite challenging to watch TV programmes in the room as it is supported by wifi cable. WiFi need to be upgraded as it is not strong and unstable, maybe becos of the secluded location. Don't come to Yangshuo if u are into shopping as there is no malls.

The whole place was so peaceful and beautiful. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Also the food at the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. We had a great time there

Just the bathroom was a bit uncomfortable with not enough space/shelves to store our things.

The location and the outside appearance of Yangshuo Mountain Retreat almost impossibly beautiful. It is situated a stone’s throw from the Yulong River in a valley that is one of the most magical places I have ever visited. Near-vertical towering karst terrain spires line the valley on either side and tower directly behind the resort itself. The resort provides free bicycles which are better maintained that those that I have found for free in other hotels and there are free helmets and bicycle locks provided. The bike ride up the valley for a mile or so along a wide brick paved path that runs along the banks of the river offers a parade of vertical peaks on either side of the river(there are more extensive bike routes listed online but these involved sharing the road with busy auto and motor scooter traffic and I,for one, did not think the risk of an orthopedic, or head, injury was worth it). The Yulong river valley is lined with small farms and has so many gorgeous plants(from banana trees to rice ready for harvest and local wild flowers), that I chose to walk it several times to appreciate the fine detail one misses when biking. The exterior of the resort itself is very charming with exuberant blooming bougainvillea lining the path and framing the verandas of each room. The interiors and plumbing are somewhat old fashioned but comfortable and clean and the rooms have a small veranda with chairs and a small table looking out onto a stunning bougainvillea-framed view of the river and mountains. The staff were friendly and went out off their way to be helpful. They welcomed us on our first day with a complimentary pot of ginger tea and a little plate of cookies. The ginger tea was so good we went back three times during our stay for a pot of the same tea. The restaurant was cozy and the chinese dishes were good(we did not try their western menu).

I was initially disappointed that the complimentary shuttle rides to town which were described in the listing had been discontinued after the Covid epidemic waned but we found that the Didi commercial ride service was great. Clean modern cars arrived within minutes of being hailed on the app and only cost 2-4 US dollars for a ride to or from town so I would not let the lack of a shuttle service dissuade me at all from staying here.

The staff were amazing and just so thoughtful and kind and helpful. Really useful information such as when we wanted to know about the rafting and the best time to go, they checked live and advised how to get there and the plan. They also planned cycling routes and went above and beyond to make sure we were mosquito free. The rooms and location amazing and the restaurant server both great local and European food. They also gave us a nice early checkin.

Perfect location with an amazing view. The staff is FABULOUS! All of them were very helpful and all of them spoke good English. The food was abundant and tasty. Having lunch on the patio and lounging thereafter is a must-do!

Although the room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was not. It was too small and dated. The A/C did not work properly. The first night was ok, but the second night I had someone come to check it but it never worked. The room was warm throughout the night with the A/C temperature set at 16 degrees.

The view from the resort is simply stunning. Lovely place to eat outside. Extensive menu with home made bread. They have a big selection of activities and tours to do in the Yangshuo area.

Our chalet had a balcony right on the water, only problem was that it had absolutely no view because it was completely covered by bamboo. There was no where you could sit inside the chalet and see a view. Also we where there in very hot weather so it was too hot to sit outside most of the time, a pool would have been a life saver. As we were there with young kids there was very little for them to do, no real space to run around (the resort is much smaller than i was expecting) no playground, no pool etc.
