Beautiful hotel with great attention to detail. Spacious and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Went out of their way to make our stay extra special for my fiancé’s birthday celebrations. Easy location with great walkable access to local attractions, restaurants etc.

The room was clean and comfortable.

No live TV. You have to cast programmes from your phone! This assumes everyone has tv apps already installed on their phone.

The overall feel of the hotel was relaxing and peaceful. The guest lounge/bar was a lovely area to spend time in, enjoying a drink. The bed and bedding were a nice quality. The breakfast was adequate and offered healthy options.

We were woken up quite a few times during the night by noise outside the rear of the property. The shower screen was completely inadequate and leaked water due to it being positioned too high from the side of the bath causing the floor to get very wet. Breakfast, although adequate, would have felt a little repetitive if staying for a number of nights. Although some negatives, they were outweighed by the positives.

We expressed all our issues as we left and the receptionist appreciated our comments and said as it was a new hotel there were maintenance issues to be addressed.

Feels like a work in progress. We were in the cheapest room so weren’t expecting luxuries but there was a horrible smell in the room ( maybe varnish or paint?) Window lock was broken and windows were painted shut so no ventilation Horrible old net curtain that was hanging off Room was really warm even with air con on which did not seem very effective Shower- has not been updated since whenever. Took ages to get any hot water and even then it was either scalding or cold. If you’ve got gorgeous toiletries and an amazing hairdryer you need a good shower Lovely welcome card explaining about complimentary chocolate and vermouth, but there was no vermouth! I think this could be an amazing hotel, but it feels like it was opened before all snagging had been completed.
