Clayton Hotel Cardiff

Central location, good restaurant and bars very pleasant. Friendly and obliging staff.

Bed size was just a double and too small for two larger adults.

We liked the size of our room.

We did have a smoking faulty lamp that we had removed. Luckily we were in the room when this happened.

Check in was quick and easy, room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Location was perfect for shopping and restaurants. Extra touches such as ironing board and iron, dressing gown and slippers were all a lovely touch. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of options.

There was nothing we did not like.

The location was the only thing I liked about the hotel. The check in was a bit impersonal but heyho.

I had booked an executive room. Liked the photos online but did not get anything like it. The room I was allocated was entering but executive. Had a shower which was luke warm and just acceptable. Used the provided towel and it was dirty. Covered in black stains. Returned it to reception and was given a new clean towel. So, please check the towels before use to make sure they are clean. I commented on the disappointing room the next day and was told that I should have mentioned it the night before. To be honest I just could not be asked as I had unpacked, came back late and was just tired. The breakfast was okay, nothing outstanding but not bad either. Last photo is that of what I thought I had booked according to the photos on the website of the executive rooms and the others show the reality of my room. Quite different and disappointing!
