Proper Cotswolds pub - quaint and gorgeous. Great food and wonderful atmosphere. Loved the quirky mice carved in tables in dining room. Breakfast excellent especially crispy bacon brioche. Front of house staff lovely - ensured we had nice table for anniversary and gave good tips on where to go to sight see in Cotswolds. We had the St George’s Suite which was huge - very comfy bed.
I love robes in room but slippers would have been even better! Music system is for old fashioned iPod and so didn’t work with new iPhones sadly. Everything else perfect.

It was nice to sit outside the ground-floor room, despite the very busy road close by.
We got a decidedly lukewarm welcome, which matched being ignored by three members of staff when trying to check out. I gave up waiting and left the key on the bar. Miraculously, someone must have appeared because the payment for the stay (which we ended a day early) was taken within 10 minutes. However, I still got a phone call asking whether I had taken the key. If I had, how would they have known we had checked out a day early? The room was small, the bathroom floor truly grim, and the walls were so thin you could hear everything your neighbours were saying and every footstep above you.
