We were given a free upgrade to our room. It was large, high-ceilinged, and very comfortable with a large and excellent bathroom. We had afternoon tea and breakfast at the hotel and both were very good. The staff, at reception and in the restaurant were all friendly and very helpful.
There was nothing much at all to complain about. The hotel was expensive but that is to be expected given the sort of establishment that it is, and overall it was worth it for the experience.

The location is central and good
The property is old and tired, the rooms are very tired and not up to the usual standards of a 5 star hotel. The towels and bath robes in the spa area are discolored, clearly a case of being overused…
