Virgin Hotels London - Shoreditch

Location and facilities especially the pool. The beds were super comfy. Staff sent up an ice bucket for us and were really friendly. We also had a lovely complimentary slice of cake for my friends birthday. We had a granola bowl for breakfast which was yummy.

Pool needed some tlc, tiles missing and needed a clean, a lift was out of order, one member of staff in the cocktail bar was incredibly rude.

Room and location were both great and front desk staff very welcoming. One lift was broken which was a pain over a busy weekend! Pool looked nice though if a bit small!

Breakfast was pretty poor and very slow service. A very basic buffet breakfast and coffee took forever to come and on the second day I went to the counter to get collect it as it was just sat there. One of the two lifts was broken which was a real pain over a busy weekend.

Very clean and new. I’m guessing the normal rooms are reasonably nice and comfortable.

Having paid full price for a standard room, I was placed in a wheelchair-accessible room that was very uncomfortable. The sink came up just above my knees. There was barely a foot of space between the foot of the bed and the wall, so you’d have to crawl over the bed (and your sleeping partner) to get to the other side - which is even weirder considering it’s a wheelchair-accessible room? The shower is tiny and has no glass, just a flimsy curtain, so water got everywhere making the whole bathroom wet. Also, no full length mirror despite plenty of places to put one. Bizarre choices were made.

Good location, clean, great staff, comfortable bed.

Rooftop was closed for private event but I was not told in advance. Accessible room shower did not seem set up to manage spread of water and not enough towels to cope it meaning room outside bathroom was slippery and dangerous.
