Queens Hotel & Spa

The location was fantastic, almost directly opposite Brighton Pier, and our third-floor tower room had amazing sea views. The bathroom was lovely and spacious, and we really enjoyed the pool and gym facilities. The standout, however, was the staff, who were all incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

For nearly £300 for one night, we expected a little more. The exterior of the hotel looked quite tired, with visible rust stains running down the building from the railings. Although the views were beautiful, the room itself was rather plain and lacked the little touches you might expect at this price point. We stayed to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary, but there was no acknowledgement of the occasion unless we paid extra for one of the celebration packages. While we certainly didn't expect anything extravagant, a simple card or small gesture would have been a lovely touch. The bathroom was spacious, but the shampoo and body wash were in wall-mounted dispensers by the shower, with nothing accessible from the bath, meaning you had to get out to use them! Breakfast was also not included in the already expensive room rate and came at an additional cost. We chose to eat elsewhere and enjoyed a lovely breakfast for around a third of the hotel's price. Having stayed at other hotels in Brighton that offered better value for money, I don't think we would choose to return. It's a shame, as the location and staff really were excellent.

We had a fantastic weekend break here. Everything was perfect we would definitely visit again. Our room was lovely with an unexpected partial sea view as an added bonus. Breakfast was great, cocktails were fabulous, and we ended up with the pool all to ourselves.

There is nothing to dislike about the hotel. The only downside was the parking in the area is quite pricey.

My room was very tired looking and smelt old, and unsanitised, I had a sea view room but the windows were dirty, the decor was uninviting, boring and stained.
