Mercure Jakarta Sabang

Size too small

All was good including staff, breakfast, restaurant and location.

Tiles in our shower were a little slippery.

Excellent breakfast with local food options that make it special. Dinner at the restaurant was also great.

location good, room clean & comfortable; staff very good both during our stay and pre-arrival

I expected more overall from a 4-star [I believe] hotel; I noted above that the hotel met my expectations but this is really only partly so. The pool is very small [but open until 9 p.m., which is good]. We had the buffet breakfast 3 days running and although choices were there, overall it felt a bit cheap and more like a 3-star level. We also dined there on our first night & my lamb curry was so fatty as to be inedible [and indeed it was removed from the bill at the staff's suggestion, without any fuss]. This is a family hotel and so expect children; having said that, the clientele during out stay [September] seemed to be mostly local, and certainly local children are a lot better-behaved than one might expect in the West.
