Palazzo Alfieri - Place of Charme

The location is excellent, making it very convenient for exploring the city and getting around. The windows are also quite robust so even if your room faces the street you don’t get outside noise.

The breakfast was unfortunately a major disappointment. I hate to be overly negative, but my partner and I found the food genuinely inedible. Although breakfast was included in our room rate, after the first morning we chose to eat breakfast elsewhere for the remainder of our stay. We also had an issue with our first room. We were staying in a suite with a very old air-conditioning system that was incredibly loud and kept us awake for much of the night. Unfortunately, it was also too warm to comfortably sleep without the AC on. That said, we raised the issue with the staff the following morning and they were very kind and helpful, moving us to another suite with a much more modern AC system, which worked perfectly. We really appreciated how promptly and graciously they handled the situation. I want to note I had stayed at this hotel twice before and hadn’t encountered these issues previously.

I had the most beautiful view from my room. Staff were lovely but breakfast was mid. The ceiling in the breakfast room was beautiful but the breakfast itself was plain and boring and if you’re vegetarian then the options available for you are very small. I didn’t like how pork / non pork items were all grouped together and utensils were cross contaminated. Also, I was made to wait 30 mins for a taxi on one day when staff told me it’ll take less than 5 mins.

The sofa in my room was squeaky and made a lot of noise. I couldn’t even sit on it.
