So we'll positioned Every part of the north West lakes and peaks within easy reach The staff and management are very helpful polite and hard working to make your stay a real pleasure The menu choice has something for everyone and is served promptly is always hot very tasty and filling Well done coledale

been coming here for over 40 years, rooms spotless, food excellent, great selection of real ales and staff couldnt do more for you

if i could have stayed longer there is nothing i dont like

The older lady who works there was much nicer in the morning, she was very abrupt on the early evenings. The rest of the staff were lovely, attentive and very polite and mannerly. The shower pressure was horrific. It took literally 5 seconds to get a handful of water in the shower. It was so bad it was laughable. We were on the top floor. The breakfast was random. Some people were given the verbal option of beans and black pudding and some weren't. They weren't written on the menu as options. The Sunday lunch was outstanding. There was a generous amount of meat, it all looked lovely on the plate. The bed was comfortable and clean. The room was basic but nice. The bar feels like an old fashioned bar, it's quite pleasant to be in, quite nostalgic. Would I stay again? No I wouldn't. I didn't enjoy the older ladies erratic moods. And I didn't enjoy the shower pressure. But I did appreciate having somewhere to stay and be fed.
