The Grand La Paz Experience Hotel Boutique

A peaceful, cozy oasis away from the hustle and bustle of La Paz city center but only 6-8 USD taxi ride into the city center and the bus station to Uyuni. The most endearing aspect of our stay was the warm, kind hospitality of the hosts, Maria and Gualberto. No request was too much. The included breakfast each morning was excellent in the beautifully appointed patio designed by their architect son, Christian. They took us to the local market in Achumeni where we shopped with them for fresh, local food. Then we brought it back to the hotel where Maria gave us a virtual cooking class in making Bolivian style trout with local vegetables. Gualberto arranged for our taxi transfer ($7.00) to the bus station for our tour to Uyuni. Then when we came back from Uyuni he took us to watch the Superbowl in nearby San Miguel, a quaint, high-end neighborhood with trendy cafes, bars and restaurants where we watched the game at the British Pub. By the time they took us to the airport ($15.00) we felt like we were not just guests, but a part of their family.

Although their English is not perfect, their adult son Christian, speaks good English and was always available to facilitate any communication gaps.

L’accueil fut excellent dans un hôtel très charmant et sécurisé. Nous avons été très bien recommandé sur la ville et les alentours et avons profité d’un super petit déjeuner.
