A very old building nicely refurbished, comfortable with good facilities. The breakfast room / terrace is South facing with an amazing view over the South Downs.

Location, charm of the hotel. It was authentic, once you walked in, you had a feeling you stepped back into 18 th century, yet it offered all the comfort of the 21st century. The room was comfortable, clean, and quirky in a nice way, as was the bathroom.
The breakfast was good, although a bit expensive, in my opinion.
The location was perfect as a starting point to explore charming Lewis.
Everything was to my satisfaction.

Wonderful historic building with masses of old world atmosphere - wood panelling, sloping floors. Very comfortable beds and bedding. Really good shower. Nice espresso coffee at breakfast. Nice light room for breakfast. Chocs/sweets a nice touch.
Expensive for what it was. Coffee machine but no pods. Breakfast - poor croissant, tough scrambled egg and the toast it was on was brick hard. Serving of toast was very dry. Superficially the hotel had been decorated but when you look all the paintings are just digital prints - couldn't they find any real ones? Room 2 - window was absolutely filthy on the outside, bathroom needs a coat of paint, loo needs a descale.
