We liked the oceanfront location, the amenities were ideal, especially an indoor pool on a cold, rainy day; however the restaurant, the market, the valet parking fee are all over priced. $3 for a single can of soda is absurd and greedy. Rooms are very clean and comfortable however the shower was kind of pathetic with a clogged shower head that only worked good on one setting, bathrooms are super tiny!! A few friendlier attitudes at the front desk would be nice. The young, tall black man with the black glasses was not at all friendly and when I asked if there was a phone in the lobby to call my room, he blatantly told me “no”, yet when I returned from parking my car, I then saw two. At checkout I was charged for 4 nights of valet parking when I told the gentleman checking me in I was only doing valet the first night. Now I have to try to get that money back! Housekeeping does a stellar job so we were sure to leave a nice gratuity for them.

Loved the location, loved that everything we needed was in close proximity. Loved that they gave complimentary cookies that taste amazing. Loved that the indoor pool was warm.

The beds were supposed to to be Queen size beds. Beds didn’t fit 2 people comfortably. I felt like my and my husband was sleep in a bed slightly bigger than a twin size.

My children and I walked right into paint when using the hand rail that apparently was just painted but there were no wet paint sign. Our clothes, jackets and bags are ruined with paint. Stopped to tell the front desk to put signs up and to inform the manager and the gentleman at the front desk could have cared less. He in no way tried to help us covered in wry paint and gave me a card to reach the manager (which goes to the 800 number). Still have not heard from manager on how items that were destroyed willl be handled. The only person who tried to help us was the young man cleaning the lobby. He rushed to help find cleaner to remove wet paint from our hands. I had to purchase new coats for the entire family because ours were unusable and the temps were in the 40s. I have never been so disappointed in lack of customer service and care from a property. The front desk gentleman never once tried to help and just handed us a card and the property is repairable for ensuring wet paint signs are put up when painting outside. 100% disappointed. Still waiting to hear from manager which is unacceptable as well.

Shower did not have hot water most of the entire stay.They will lie and tell you parking is free but it’s not they take $5 a day out your incidental deposit for parking so you will not actually get the whole deposit back on checkout day!!

The breakfast was awesome and the location was perfect for us.

The bathroom door was a tad bit too close to the toilet for me. The bathroom towels were hard or should I say overly used, however, I’ve never used hotel towels I usually bring my own from home. I would have loved to had a mini microwave, I think we selected the wrong room. I’m quite sure an all amenities room would have had one. The smell of marijuana reeked from our balcony door when we opened it at night and my husband allergies got crazy thus causing us to keep our door closed. The main purpose of our trip was to hear the sound of the ocean at night so normally we would keep the door open. We didn’t want to complain because we didn’t want to cause trouble for anyone else.

The hotel was very convenient to get to. The hotel is beautiful and checked every box off for cleanliness, amenities and easy access to the beach and ocean.

We were guests for 2 nights. There was a restaurant and bar (Mahi’s Seafood & Sushi) on the lower level of the hotel. The bar proceeds to continue the party until 11:00 pm on Friday night and well after 2 am Sunday morning. Meaning there’s no rest for weary at the Doubletree Oceanfront, Virginia Beach. In spite of not having hot water in the hotel and no sleep; cannot even begin to imagine how the guests managed on the lower levels. This was an extremely long weekend! Probably will not use this hotel again or recommend. Sorry 😕

The price was a lot for having to pay for parking and having to pay for breakfast.

The location of the beach was great

I was disappointed with the pool the water was milky and dirty. The filtration system was not working you could not see the floor. The compliment breakfast was joke in the restaurant Mahi. Horrible staff we sat for 1 1/2 with the whole excuse that they needed to be sure we were on the list for the breakfast. Then we had to hear the excuse that they are under staff to receive some greasy eggs, toast with no butter and fries. Then to top it off they were giving me a bill that had to do with someone’s order for 4 meals. The hall ways in the hotel are excruciating. They don’t turn on the ac in between the floors or in the elevators. The only person I found that was helpful was a young lady at the desk that had glasses on ….thank you to her and the Spanish guy that cleaned in the hotel. The parking was horrible. You pay 20 a day and it’s not even at the hotel it’s at another parking facility you have to walk to unless you ditch out 35 a day for valet. I say take you money to another place and don’t bother with complementary breakfast.

Breakfast and location were excellent. Staff was outstanding in every respect. They accommodated all my requests effectively and with a positive attitude. I have stayed at several hotels in the area, sometimes paying more. This is by far the best overall. I will be staying here in the future. Can’t wait until my next trip later this year.

Everything about the hotel was great to me. Staff and management really know how to treat the guests.
