Nestled in Rome City, this lovely house for $95 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Lovely cottage in Rome City Indiana located close to Sylvan Lake. Sylvan Lake is a 700-acre all sports lake, where you can enjoy jet skis, swimming, fishing, skiing or just boating around the 16 miles of shoreline. There is a nature preserve on The Big Island, accessible by boat with over 2 miles of hiking trails. Gene Stratton-Porter State Memorial Park, Sylvan Cellars Event Center and Mother Mercy Event Center is a short drive away. The Cottage is a short walk to the public boat ramps, grocery store and bait shop. The Cottage has a big yard to park your cars and boat trailer. Cottage is furnished with ac, wifi, new carpet and new appliances. One queen bed room downstairs, finished loft with double, single and another portable queen if you need it.

We go to Sylvan lake area at least twice a year to see family. This place is just a short walk to their place & had everything we needed for this Christmas visit.

When we arrived, the pictures matched perfectly with the location. The cottage was a perfect little getaway to unwind and disconnect. Close to Shipshewana.
A water softener would be a great addition to the cottage!

This was a great house for a couple of days while traveling from Lake Michigan back to Kentucky. It was an ideal home base for me while meeting friends at Sylvan Lake, Gene Stratton-Porter Historic Site, Sylvan Cellars, Fishing Line Trail, etc. The house was clean & comfortable, & David was friendly & super helpful by text. He came by after a severe storm to check on me; I happily chilled out during the storm by watching Amazon Prime features on the big screen TV. It's an older lake cabin that's been updated but has an added-on floorplan (e.g., you have to go through the living room, kitchen, & laundry room to get to the bathroom) -- but that worked well for me (I was there for a lake stay anyway). Great value for the price.

Christmas at the Lake.
This place was a nice place to stay while celebrating Christmas with our daughter and her in-laws. David was very responsive & resolved an issue we had.

Property was dirty, disheveled and disorganized. Very musty smelling. Water smelled like rotten eggs. Sheets smelled. Towels were rough and stained. There were exposed gas lines and electrical cords. Heater floor vents were not screwed in. Leftover food in fridge. Definitely not a place I would recommend or revisit.

Even Better the Second Time!
This was our second visit staying in this property. We love the area, the quaintness of the cottage, and the location is perfect for our needs. The cottage is clean, very well-equipped, and the owner is absolutely amazing as far as accommodating needs and responding to issues. The back garden area is our favorite. It's spacious and private. You absolutely cannot go wrong renting this property if you have a need to stay in the area. We will be back again!

Have stayed here before...Great location to come & go to visit family on Skinner Lake less than 10 min drive away. Clean, well supplied, quiet spot in a neighborhood.

Awesome Gem
We stayed for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary. This cottage was perfect, very clean and nicely decorated, comfortable and homey. Very reasonable pricing and so very close to a beautiful lake! Close to so many places and we shopped in Shipshewana. Perfect weekend! We would book this place again and stay for a week and bring our jet skis to enjoy Sylvan Lake! Grateful for finding this gem! Charming little house next to Lake Sylvan. Fishing near by. We enjoyed the town. Chain Of Lakes is nearby. Good place to relax. The host was really nice.
