A really fine base for 3 days in Amsterdam

I liked the slightly out of the centre location and the family room set-up. It was a homely place, but more than that as your man, Blaine clearly knows a bit about hospitality. The breakfasts were very good.

We didn’t mind, but if you really don’t like dogs, even really cute ones, it might not be for you, as it’s home to a super friendly young one. Ditto, if you can’t cope with a few flights of stairs you might struggle.

Nice location

We really liked the location. It actually was nice not to be in the tourist hub. The area had lots of restaurants and shops and the no.2 tram to the centre was regular and nearby.As many mentioned, the stairs are quite steep and there are lots of them to the 4th floor. The balcony is lovely.The nespresso machine and tea making facilities were nice to have.

Blaine was lovely on the first day..However on our last day he seemed quite stressed and not so friendly. I felt we may have upset him somehow. On the evening of our arrival Blaine had a BBQ for his friends. It is directly outside the family room we had booked so it was a little strange as our room opens up to this balcony. On our last night of three, I approached him to say that our girls were hot in the loft and had been bitten by mosquitoes. I assumed that with a "superb" rating he would have some spray but he said that mosquitoes don't worry him and we could buy our own spray. He just seemed a little abrupt when he said it. My husband and I slept in the loft that night to give our girls a better sleep and we also found it was very hot. We realised later that the overhead fan was on "winter" mode so there was no air being pushed down on to the bed. So we changed it to "summer" mode which helped enormously with the heat and with keeping the mosquitoes off us. Our girls would not have realised about the modes.. Also the dust under the bed in the loft was bad, I had to look under the bed for a lost earring. I broke a couple of cups and offered to pay but Blaine told me not to worry which was very nice of him..

Lovely restorative stay with the wonderfully idiosycratic Blaine.

Good breakfast. Blaine is an excellent host and we loved his company, his wisdom, recommendations. In fact the whole experience was a joy.

The apartment is wonderful, the location is great, you are in a quiet part of the city, and the city center can be reached quickly by bicycle. The host is there for any questions and help.

Very pleasant indeed.

The bed was simply amazing, super super comfortable and snug. Locality was good, owner was supre helpful and very kind and accomodating.

Everything was great, I didn't have an en-suite, which I thought was going to be an issue but, it turned out not to be an issue. Everything was really lovely, comfortable and convenient.

Lovely, peaceful bedroom for a couple

The bed was lovely and comfortable with fresh linens and tea and coffee facilities. Large windows over looking river and kind host. The area is great for couples who want to get out of the busy centre. The tram trip allows you to spot other lovely places to visit. Wish we stayed an extra day.

Toilet facilities were clean but very small and close to the other bedroom.

Gezellig

Blaine was an excellent host, knowing what to do to satisfy my stay. He was hospitable, and treated me as a friend beyond a guest. The room was also clean and cozy, nothing I would complain about, except for maybe that there is no fridge but he offered space in his own. I would like to visit some day again.

A private fridge or more accessibility to the microwave would have been nice. However Blaine was kind enough to offer such services on request.

A pleasant family vacation. Thank you Blaine

Before booking I obviously researched the place so I knew what to expect. Location, stairs etc. Tram2 which passes very frequently connects to central Amsterdam - never had problems. In my opinion, the photos on booking.com don't do the place justice. In reality, place is much nicer. Both bedrooms good sized and comfortable. Lovely terrace. Room kept clean.

Nothing comes to mind.

Exceptional

It was a lovely place to stay and Blaine was a great host! The location is pretty and we liked it because it was a bit away from the major fuzz of Amsterdam but very easily reachable by public transportation. The room and decorations were beautiful and added to the nice atmosphere of the house :)

I really wanted to like the host but he rubbed me the wrong way. sometimes he was nice other times he was short and rude. i don’t like the way he spoke to me sometimes. i thought it was a race thing but he spoke to his lady friend the same way. i didn’t find it very kind at all.

A very pleasant and comfortable stay

The outside terrace was an amazing space. Had a relaxing quality to it. The breakfast was awesome.

a minor point of the stair access to the top but the room and outside terrace make for this.

The location was nice. Quiet but easy to get to a station to get into the city. Blaine is an exceptional host. He was friendly and accommodating. He had great recommendations for our visit and was available to answer any questions. Accommodations were comfortable and clean. Definitely get the breakfast Blaine makes! It is delicious and a great value. He would also sit and talk with us during breakfast. We were also lucky and able to enjoy and pizza dinner he made for guests. Great price for amazing food.

A great place to stay

My son and I enjoyed our stay immensely. The accommodation worked well for us and we enjoyed sitting on the beautiful terrace in the sunshine. Blaine was the perfect host, setting us up for the day with a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast and giving us helpful advice on where to visit. Would definitely book again. Thanks Blaine.

He had a pleasant short break in Amsterdam. Blaine and his B&B get a 10 out of 10 from us. :-)

Blaine is an excellent host who gives good sightseeing advice (like the church in the attic and the new "This is Holland"-Experience). His breakfast was very rich and varied. The rooms are very nicely furnished and have a fantastic roof terrace. Blaine's B&B is located near the P+R Olympic Stadium and the Vondel park. The tram takes you quickly to the city center.

There really isn't anything that stood out negatively.
