Wow, this hotel is worth crossing oceans for (I only had to drive 400km). Shirgeru Ban is a famous architect and his creation floats on a sea of rice fields that is green beyond imagination. The onsens are wonderful, particularly the outside one and the one on the left. I had an exquisite gourmet dinner (Y9.500 and book). Staff were top notch. What I paid was embarrassingly cheap - I am not going to tell you - maybe the algo messed up. Prepare for furniture made out of compressed loo rolls - a Ban speciality!
Warning - proably not so beautiful out of rice season / the wine menu font is ridiculously small. My room had an oblique view of the rice fields - check before booking - but considering the price - no problem.

Amazing staff at hotel desk.
Sake bar has been a terrible experience. No explanation in English and not welcoming staff. Restaurant high quality but quantity too poor for the price.
