We ended up in a different room and different building from the one we thought we had rented but the room which we were moved to was large and comfortable. Cleaning staff did a great job each day. Location was good and all the sites in the historic center were an easy walk away.
The check in process was terrible. We couldn't communicate with the folks at the apartment (no one spoke English and we do not speak Spanish). We could not understand what happened and why no one knew we had a room rented even though we presented our reservation information. Still don't exactly understand the fuss but appeared that the apartment we rented was not available and we were forced to relocate to another apartment about a 10 minute walk away. Of course no one could explain to us what was going on and we walked back and forth between the two buildings several times (once with luggage) before we got the mess sorted out. Wasted about 2 hours trying to get this sorted out but ultimately were relieved that we had a place to stay.
The room itself was large and comfortable. However it was uncomfortably hot in the evenings. We used the fans and opened things up but it would not cool down. With the window open the traffic noise in the morning was bad.
