Situated in Sugar Mountain, this charming cabin for $194 per night is a great option for your next trip. This magnificent 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom log cabin is nestled in the peaceful woods of Sugar Mountain and can accommodate 10 guests. This cabin has a hot tub on the deck for your enjoyment. Cozy up in front of the flat-screen TV and electric fireplace in the living room. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom has a King bed, the second bedroom has a Queen bed and there are two sets of bunk beds in the third bedroom. Additionally, the loft area offers a Day bed. Take advantage of the private Wi-Fi and washer and dryer in the unit. This cabin is luxurious and homey with deep reds and rich accents providing a warm atmosphere. Non-smoking. Absolutely NO Pets from December through March. Pet-friendly may be available seasonally. There are pet size/breed and number restrictions please confirm with us before booking. Please acknowledge that there is a $100 pet fee(per pet). No Check-in's Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. All guests required to sign their rental agreement within 7 days of booking.

This is our second time staying in this cabin. It does work well for two families and is close to skiing/Sugar Mountain. Overall, the bedrooms, living space, and parking are all good. The kitchen table needs to be bigger for the number of people that can stay in the cabin. The entire place -including the hot tub- could use a good deep cleaning. Overall, everything was okay, but not amazing.

I rented this place for 4 moms and 5 college age kiddos. We had a FANTASTIC time in Sugar Mountain. The rental staff was very nice. The downside is the cleanliness of the rental. I’m pretty shocked at how this has been gotten away with. It is CLEAR that this place has been used several times with little to no actual cleaning. I don’t want to rent from this company again simply because of their lack of cleaning standards. I’m talking crunched up beer can in the drawers, dirt, old food, items dumped in the bottom of closets with items on top of them, coffee grounds in kitchen drawers, etc. it was rough.

Overall, 324 Rough Ridge was a great location. We enjoyed the hot tub and proximity to the ski slopes and Banner Elk. The house can sleep 10 but only had enough places to eat for six people, which was kind of an issue. Also, the property could use a good deep clean to get rid of spider webs and dust bunnies missed in the day-to-day cleaning. Sheets, towels, beds, and bathrooms were all clean. Comfy beds!

Charming home in a great location !Tv was not working on arrival - technician showed up in 10 minutes to repair . Fast service .Tub - never got to use because tub would not drain . Notified the rental company but nothing was ever done . House needs a real good detailing. Mildew around tub , baseboards collecting dirt .We left a pillow there . I called 2 days after leaving and spoke to receptionist . She said she would check on it .Couple of days past and I never heard anything . Called back and same person said that someone rented it immediately but that she would call me back as soon as they left .I just requested that someone stay in touch .Its been 3 weeks and no word .Nice house , just needs more attention . Customer service is lacking .Going to recommend the house because issues are with who is managing property . Quick fixes if receptionist notifies proper people . Seems to be a disconnect .

Our cozy log cabin rental on Sugar Mountain was wonderful. The cabin was very comfortable and clean for the 6 of us (4 adults and 2 kids). Everything worked and provided what we needed. Our only concerns were the pots and pans should be replaced, need more dining chairs, and the firepit area needs attention. The cabin location was great and had ample parking. We had our small dog with us and she did great. The spacious deck had a gate on it so she could check out the outside and be safe. We used the hot tub once and it was nice and enjoyable. This cabin was nestled in a wooded area and did not have views. But that's why you go hiking and exploring in this beautiful part of our country.

We had a great stay. 2 families of 4 with kids 10-8 yrs old Conveniently located to Sugar Mountain ski resort, as well as close to Banner Elk. Accommodations were great! Perfect for the size group.

Overall the house worked well and we will return - the management company just needs to tighten up and pay attention to some things.
We received a call that the property was available for check in - you have to go to a management office to get a key - we arrived at 3:40 pm and were told the house was not ready and we had to come back - it was a 4:00 check in.
For a company that manages many houses - they should be able to provide a pack and play but this company does not.
The outside of the house needs to be picked up - many beer bottles, water bottles and other trash in the bushes and in the woods around the house.
The house itself was as advertised but could use a good dusting. The outside fire pit doesn't work and doesn't have instructions.
The room layout was great - kids loved the 2 bunk beds.
The biggest issue with sleeping is the pillows are some of the thinnest pillows I have ever seen in my life. Out of 10 or so sleeping pillows int he house - 2 were alright and the other 8 were thin as paper. They should simply invest in 8 - 10 more pillows.

Finding a place with lots of individual beds is tough. The 2 bunks and daybed + trundle in this one really fits the bill for 6 single people. It's big, modern, clean, and has a nice hot tub. Kitchen/Living room area is great to cook/gather with wifi and large TV. Everything is here. Bit pricey will all the extra fees but with 10 people sharing the cost it's still reasonable. Minor issues are that shower drains need cleaning as one took over 20 minutes to drain, and the washer/dryer units are tiny. We adapted, but these issues should be improved - 10 people needing to do their wash using those tiny machines is painful. Also, for the cost you pay, it would be nice to have some detergent on hand to use, like there were dishwashing packets available - just an extra perk that would go a long way.

The house is extremely close to Sugar Mountain/Beech Mountain which makes for perfect time to hit the slopes. The hottub is also great to relax in after a long day. Great if you have a 4WD vehicle that can drive in cold/icy conditions.

Short mountain stay for fall
Good property however, was “closed up” which caused cobwebs and mildew smell. No cleaning supplies, hand soap, tissues, or dish soap. Just felt lack of communication by PM. Nice cabin, however, no grill or contained fire pit, deck chairs were under cover and we had to put out. Sorry, but did expect more.

Our stay was awesome and our expectations were met. The home was clean and cozy. I read back at some of the earlier reviews and it is important to give credit and state that the bathrooms were newly redone (maybe in the past year). They were very clean and that was important to me. No issues with the shower or tubs or commodes as far as uncleanliness; very pleased. All the appliances such as the refrigerator and the microwave were clean. We didn't use the stove. It's important to have clean appliances and especially the refrigerator and the bathrooms so thank you for keeping these clean and up to date. The home was appropriately decorated and the decor was great and cozy; perfect. No foul smell when you entered the home. This is a great plus that it is so well taken care of. The check in and check out process was very easy. Staff at the VRBO was pleasant. The home was just as it was displayed in the pictures. The floors and throw rugs were clean as was everything else. We struggled with the main tv as we are not high tech with all the multitudes of choices such as netflix and hulu etc. The home was equipped with everything one may need. We didn't use a lot of what was offered but it was nice to know that it was there and that it was clean and available. I would point out that it is important to note that the gate on the entrance to the deck is not secure and does not contain pets as it is. We placed chairs in front of it in effort to ensure our mid size dog did not get out and.....somewhere on the deck (possibly on the opposite side of the hot tub, there is an opening where a determined mid-size dog was able to get out and survive the drop to the ground)! The fire pit did work but not to the best of its ability, I was disappointed to read in a review back in April that it was not working then; the burner appears to not light to its entirety and therefore it did not offer very much flame/warmth. Also, it was handy to have a flame lighter there however it does need to be replaced as it is out of fluid. We had matches so that was not a problem. I was disappointed that there wasn't an actual fire place, only an electronic picture. Despite these few trivial things, the home was just as it was pictured. One safety issue: in the yard, there are many inconspicuous short bushes/tree stems that are a trip hazzard if one isn't aware. Please be careful if you walk in the yard. Overall, very pleased and feel this is a great place to stay. We will be back!

We stayed in this lovely home for another summer in 2021. Nicely equipped all around, including in the kitchen. Enjoyed sitting on the covered porch and getting into the hot tub regularly. The house is very private. A few negatives - the living room furniture was uncomfortable for us as senior citizens (so we brought our own folding chairs) and the hot tub was out of commission for 10 days or so (they had to order part but finally fixed). Overall very good service from our rental agency and we would rent this property again!

I contacted the property management about a few things and they were very responsive. The property was as described however it could have been a bit cleaner. Surfaces are clean but there is dust build up in the fans and less frequently used surfaces along with a bit cob web-y. All in all a nice location to stay for a family.

Pictures match description. Hot tub was very nice and clean. Beds were comfy. TV in living room was on the wall so hard to plug in an HDMI cord for a Nintendo switch. Ice was not made in the fridge when we arrived. Decor was outdated but the cabin is very nice overall.

Place was very clean when we arrived. Exactly as described. Lots of info in the welcome packet and location is perfect. Would definitely recommend 4WD if it's snowing but wasn't the case for us. Only had brief interactions with the staff but it was always pleasant. Would definitely recommend!

Cute House - Improved Maintenance and Cleaning Necessary
The house was great and fit our needs perfectly for the weekend, but you could tell it hadn't been deep cleaned in a while. There was dust everywhere and garbage under and behind furniture that was visible. The driveway was also a sheet of ice and was incredibly unsafe. We tried to park in the driveway, but our cars would roll down the driveway when in park so we were forced to park in the road and we all received tickets from the town. Improved cleaning and maintenance would make this 5 stars.
