Cold, echoey cement box

Nice big bed in the main bedroom. Showers were good. I'm sure in summer the pool would be wonderful. The owner was reasonably responsive. Had some cool little animals walking past the deck.

The photos of the house all look good. I think in summer it might be nice (it would probably be nice and cool), but in winter it is really chilly. There are very few soft furnishings (like curtains, rugs, etc), so the house echoes. My kids said it felt like we were staying in a parking garage. There is no noise dampening or insulation - so from the upstairs on-suite bedroom I could clearly hear conversations happening in the lounge. The layout and use of space is also very curious. Feels like you could add another 2 bedrooms and the house might feel better utilised. There were also no blankets in the house. I did ask the owner and to her credit she did respond (apparently guests steal them, so they stopped putting them out) - but nonetheless - it is chilly at night in winter. The lighting is also quite not great. I had to swap some bulbs around since the downstairs shower was black as night even in the middle of the day. I also felt as though the property could have given better guidance before our stay (like sending a mail or something telling you to remember to book any day visits to Kruger long in advance... or to bring your own blankets). The little welcome booklet with info for your stay is all in Afrikaans. I'm not against Afrikaans -but the entire booking experience was in english - so that seemed odd. The Freezer is losing its magnets on the door - so you have to prop something agains the door to keep it closed. The large bedroom sliding doors all have irritating vertical blinds (mostly damaged or broken), so you can't properly close any of them. It would be way better to have curtains (which would have also helped soften the noise).

Best pool

The swimming pool is the largest we have found through staying at 5 places over 2 weeks. Very modern, sturdy, and functional.

Has a prepaid power meeter that nearly depleted and was a hastle to get a ciupon for from the owner. We found a lot of mouse/rat dropings by the table at the entrance but never saw the pests. The blinds in the rooms as well as some switches and nobs need tlc

Unpleasant

It’s basically what you see in the pictures, big , it is definitely a bush escape,

We were out of electricity for over 13 hours, reported the matter to the landlord around 10am and she sent help at 21h00, It was an unpleasant experience for us , I wish they can improve on that, check the electricity before the guest come

Stunning house, everything that I needed was there

Nothing

6 / 10Average·Dec 2025

The quietness of the place, it’s very relaxing and mind clearing. The view of nature is beautiful. Wish I could just stay and not leave at all. The house is beautiful.

We had problems with hot water in some of our rooms. There was a toilet leak that flooded the whole room downstairs going to the sitting area. An iron was not provided.at least have two rolls of tissue per bathroom.
