WAINUI ESCAPE is a fully appointed remodeled three bedroom holiday home waiting for you across the road from the idyllic Wainui Beach. The sheltered landscaped outdoor living spaces, indoor open living with HD television, 5.1 surround and wireless high speed internet makes this your home away from home. A five minute stroll to the Okitu Store, collect a newspaper, basic food supplies and an ice-cream for the kids. A five minute drive away is the Wainui Store with gourmet coffee and a menu that are not to be missed. Famous surf breaks and of course a swim between the flags beach for the kids creates one of the best beach communities in New Zealand. Turn left and you drive towards the magic East Coast with numerous beaches and charming communities. Turn right and you discover Gisborne City with a wide variety of restaurants and of course on the outskirts you have wonderful boutique vineyards offering wine tasting and full meal service. The house is well located up a hill and away from the road. It is super quiet at night which we loved. Very warm with comfortable beds. We will definitely be back as the location is perfect for us.

It was ok for what we needed. Airing cupboard had a lot of mouse dirt in it which suggests a vermin problem. Plenty of towels etc.

We had a wonderful time! The house was all set up with everything you could need. Great communication with owner Bruce, and Tim the property manager was very friendly and inviting. Beautiful view of the beach too! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

We all had a very relaxing stay at Wainui Escape. It was super comfortable and well resourced to make for a wonderful self-catered holiday. Walking across to the beach for walks and swims was magical. Thank you.

This is an amazing property, the photos are good, but the house is better in reality. The bedrooms are huge, so heaps of room for everyone to spread out. Unfortunately the weather was bad for our visit, but I can imagine how beautiful it would be to start the day on the front deck watching the sun rise and ending the day on the back deck in the shade, absolutely stunning. The upside to the bad weather was lighting the fire, what a treat. Thanks very much Bruce and Taz.

Anniversary stay
We returned to Gisborne with whanau to celebrate our 50yr anniversary with our Sydney based whanau. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the near beach location.
My daughter in law and niece would get up early for beach walks every morning they loved being near the sea. The house was lovely, tidy and clean and felt like our own home.
Everything was in excellent condition, the Mgr checked to see if we needed gas for bbq.
The whanau would go again to this idyllic lovely peaceful home. Thank you so much for our lovely and enjoyable anniversary weekend.

Lovely place, great for swimming and surfing. Friendly neighbours. Great indoor outdoor. Only glitch was wifi initially didn’t work for 3 days. But fixed with help from local contact.

Pleasant stay. Nice area. Friendly neighbors. Across highway from beach. Beach ideal for experienced surfers and great for walking. Short drive to Gisborne. Stingrays at Tatapouri well worth checking out.

Wainui Escape is a great little bach just a hop, skip and jump away from Wainui Beach. Spent Labour weekend there with some friends and we absolutely loved it. We'll be back sometime soon!
