Located in Covert, this lovely house for $1,560 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Some people enjoy vacationing in a cabin in the woods; others prefer a cottage on the beach. Waters Edge offers the best of both worlds with an ideal location nestled in a woodsy neighborhood overlooking beautiful Lake Michigan. As you enter the house you have an expansive view of the lake visible from nearly every room with floor to ceiling glass walls, perfect for watching the amazing color changes of the water and sky and giving you a front row seat to glorious sunsets. The house can accommodate multi-generations for a family gathering, several couples or a group of friends. The main floor offers a large gathering area encompassing a fully equipped kitchen, large dining table and comfortable living area plus a cozy sunken den and large screened porch. In addition there are two bedrooms and two full baths. Downstairs the lower level has four additional bedrooms, two full baths, a game/TV room, and laundry room. This layout provides space for everyone to be together as well as opportunities for several activities at once. Should you choose to work on a puzzle, play ping pong or a board game, watch a movie, read a book or simply enjoy the breath taking views, all of this is possible at Waters Edge. As comfortable as the inside may be, you will want to take take advantage of the private beach, just steps away, as well as the expansive decks accessible from both levels. Beach chairs, toys, towels, and umbrellas are available for fun in the sun and sand. A short walk through the woods takes you to two secluded tennis courts. If golf is your passion, there are several fine courses less than 30 minutes away. And if you enjoy shopping, antiquing or restaurants, the cute harbor town of South Haven is about 8 miles away and Saugatuck/Douglas and St. Joseph are less than a half hour drive.

The pictures are really what you are getting! The house was amazing. The location, the view, the experience - all of it!
There are only 2 things to be aware of - and they are not negative - you just want to know going in….1 - the drive down to the house is a little precarious. I recommend getting there in daylight when you first arrive and 2 - the captains quarters has a separate entrance off the deck - so when your planning room assignments - prob not best to put younger kids in here alone. Again, not negatives, just need to know going in.
We had a group of 8 adults for the weekend and we all said we would rent the house again! Book it - you won’t regret it!

We had 9 of us ranging from 14 to 74 and besides a couple trips into South Haven and a couple of rounds of golf we stayed close to the beaches and the wonderful, spacious house. What a view!
There are a lot of steps, which we looked at as exercise, but might not be good for some older visitors. PS Golf the Ravines & Lake MI Hills, skip Harbor Shores.

The Pros: House has amazing views of Lake Michigan. The view when you first walk in the door is very impressive. Quite and secluded area in the woods. Access to the private beach was awesome and very convenience. Beach area was big and the water was shallow enough for our kids to safely play in the Lake. The house was clean, had plenty of room for our group of 11, and had the amenities to make our stay easy. Short drive (<15 mins) to nice beach towns of either South Haven or Saint Joe/Benton Harbor.

The house was beautiful. The view was spectacular. We had a hard time getting in but that was resolved. There was no baby gate installed. We ran short of dish towels & bath towels & so we had to do more laundry than we would have liked. Overall, our family enjoyed our stay & we were very comfortable.

This was the perfect house for our multi-family vacation. We had kids from ages 2-16, and all blended together well and had our own space. The home has plenty of space to all eat together, cook together, and enjoy the sunset together.
Although the water was too high to have a beach for the kids to play on, St Joseph's Beach was just a short 10-15 minute drive and the kids loved it.
Homeowner seemed to think of everything at the house you could need!! It was a incredibly nice VRBO stay!

This house is amazing! We had the most wonderful time with our family here and couldn’t have asked for any more! The owner met us on arrival and gave us a tour and made us all feel right at home! We spent our days relaxing on the beach and our evenings enjoying the beautiful sunsets! A close drive to grocery stores, shopping and restaurants. This house is amazing! We had the most wonderful time with our family here and couldn’t have asked for any more! The owner met us on arrival and gave us a tour and made us all feel right at home! What a beautiful and relaxing place.
The sun sets and night skies were majestic. You woke up looking at the lake from your bedroom. Property was well well maintained. We only went to town for groceries and the Saturday art fare/flea market. This was are second stay there. Looking forward to are third.

This place has fantastic views and the home has a great layout. We had two families stay here with three kids under 5. The place is dated and in need of a deeper cleaning. The place had a lot of bugs inside that were annoying during our stay. The beach itself is small and not the cleanest, but nice to be alone and get away. If you have small children, this place is not family friendly. The lower deck and the stairs do not have protection to prevent a small child from falling through. If you stay here, just note that it is more remote than we expected - no cell service or food delivery. There is one road that is steep to the house so a lower car will have difficulty with it. There is wifii. The owner is a nice woman, but you do get the feeling that she is not completely comfortable with renting her place out.

Lucia was very professional and answered all our questions prior to arrival. We had a great family time with our extended family including three grandchildren. Hanging out on the private beach a few steps down, watching sunsets from the house and grilling on the deck were the highlights of our stay!

Beautiful views...but...
PROS: If I were to rate our stay based on the lake view, I'd completely give it 5 stars. If this is your main reason to rent here, the house has amazing views and it pretty much glass windows on three sides. The stairs are easy to maneuver to get to the beach, and there is plenty of beach stuff so no need to bring your own (there is one kayak, but we brought our own SUPs instead). It is an easy 10 minute drive to Meijer grocery store and a cute farmer's market on the corner before it. Maybe 15 minutes to get to downtown South Haven. The "Brad Pit" is a great place for kids to hang out and watch movies. Lucia, the owner, is very kind and accommodating.
CONS: If I were to rate this based on the value of house versus the amount charged, I'd give it 3 stars. The problem is the house is in the process of being remodeled (at least it looked like it), so if you get an area that's been remodeled - its great. But if you get an area that hasn't been (e.g. bathroom in main bedroom, 6th bedroom and bathroom on lower level), its not a great experience. My brother took the 6th bedroom, which is sort of detached from the main part of the house. It was moldy and the bathroom was really not what you'd expect paying $1000/night (putting it nicely). He ended up sleeping on the couch in the family room and used a different bathroom. Perhaps this house should be advertised as a 5 bedroom rather than 6 until that 6th bedroom and 4th bathroom can be repaired/updated. Also, just a note that there are no camp fires allowed on the beach due to the erosion.
Overall, we enjoyed our time, loved the view, and the beach, but paying such a high amount to be on the lake, we expected the house to be consistent, the 6th bedroom and 4th bathroom really shouldn't be offered until they are fixed. If you don't need this space, I think you'll be happy here.

Excellent!
We had an extended family retreat for the first time on Lake Michigan. We found the House was adequately supplied with towels, kitchen items, etc. The house is beautiful and offers amazing views of the lake and the beautiful sunsets. The owner was very gracious and available for consultation on various needs during the week. Thank you for making this a special week for us and full of great memories!

The kids enjoyed the beach playing with the provided toys Including the kayak and swimming. Beautiful direct sunset view. Recommend to bring food and snacks since shops are about 10 min drive and couldn’t find any food delivery that service the area. We all enjoyed the stay and we do recommend this property.

Amazing Vacation with breathtaking views
Non Nobis Solum was a wonderful place to stay. Every bedroom(there is 6 of them) and sitting area has breathtaking views of lake Michigan and the private beach is only a few steps away. The home is nested a beautiful wooded area that makes one feel like they are in a remote location away from the hustle and bustle of city life and in sync with nature.
The host/ owner is very pleasant and really cares to make sure that people have all the information they need to have a wonderful vacation at this house. She personally gave us a welcome tour. Every room has a special name and a sheet of information about it that is very helpful. She has two binders with information about the home, things to do, grocery shopping, places to eat out if you so choose, places of worship etc.
There is a lot of things to do including playing on the beach, kayaking, walking in the woods, playing tennis of just relaxing and enjoying the magnificent views and sounds of the waves of Lake Michigan.
There is a well equipped kitchen for cooking family meals and ample space to seat members of a large family while enjoying the views and having a family meal. We enjoyed grilling on the deck and eating our meals on the deck while absorbing the beauty and splendor of the place. One morning it was rainy and mildly chilly outside and we decided to stay indoors , play numerous board games and ping pong while we enjoyed warmth if the wood fireplace.
My family and I plan to make this an annual vacation spot. We made many terrific memories in our three night stay and wished we had stayed longer because we could not do everything there is to do in the time we were there.

Perfect!
My 70th birthday celebration with my 11 closest friends! We were all in awe of Lucia’s wonderful home. A view from every window, ample space for everyone, well stocked kitchen and gorgeous deck for a party. It would be my very first choice for a return visit!

Our family weekend in this home was a dream, from start to finish. The deep winding wooded drive creates a surreal backdrop against the stunning shores of Lake Michigan. Our family of five were completely accommodated and felt at home with countless amenities. We enjoyed our game night in the cozy “Brad Pit” (the sunken living room with fireplace) and our Saturday morning trip to the nearby Farmer’s Market and shops in South Haven. Our children loved the soft sand and jumping waves in the clear, clean lake. Beach walks, a nap in the hammock and kayaking were just a few of the highlights. In the well-equipped kitchen we cooked, dined together at the large table and enjoyed an impromptu dance party! Lake or forest views from every direction in and outside of the house made our time at Lucia’s cottage a truly magical weekend - thank you for sharing your home, such a gem. We can’t wait to return!
